About Katsouris Deli

Katsouris Deli is a large cafe and delicatessen at 113 Deansgate in Manchester, set in a Gothic style building. Breakfast includes a full English, with flat white and latte coffees to go alongside. The omelette comes with toast and a side of either chips or salad, and a salad bar carries Greek options for those who want something lighter. Cannoli are made in a range of flavours for something sweet. Ordering happens at the counter rather than through table service, so guests place their order, wait for it, and collect it themselves. The deli layout keeps the food in view as it is put together.

Customer Review Summary

Breakfast is what most reviewers come for, with the full English, omelettes and flat white coffee named most often, and the portions described as generous and the food as fresh and delicious. The salad bar with its Greek options and the spicy rice draw praise, as do the ciabatta sandwiches, a croque monsieur and a sausage and bacon bap. One reviewer also notes lots of cannoli flavours. Several describe a busy, chaotic room with people making and waiting for orders, and one says the food took a while, though it gets easier once the system is clear. Not every plate lands. One omelette tasted like plastic and came with hard chips. Another reviewer found the latte cold and the smashed avocado on soggy, undertoasted muffins instead of sourdough, with one egg hard and the other runny. One reviewer was refused tap water, and another found the buttered toast with an omelette a little heavy on butter. Even so, the fries with a herby sprinkle get a specific mention.

“This is a deli so don’t go expecting table service and fine dining. We had coffee and breakfast/brunch which was great. The service was very good, the food took a while as it was busy but it was prepared fresh and was delicious.”

“First off if I could place a Zero star I would as my group didn't actually eat and drink. However the menu looked great hence why we decided to pop in. Unfortunately we left within less than a minute due to whom we presumed was the manager/owner? Was shouting loudly at the members of staff. This first off, is not professional and something you don't expect to hear as a customer. The atmosphere was horrendous. The screaming was horrible and intimidating towards the staff and I'm surprised they haven't walked out yet due to him. And yes. I work in hospitality as a manager to which my staff actually love working with me. Don't belittle them. Don't abuse them and if there's an issue, take them aside at the end of the shift and discuss it in a normal manner.”

“Came in because the menu looked great, but soon left after George continued to belittle and shout at his staff. Clearly not a great place to work as the staff look frightened. I feel sorry for them and would urge better employers to instantly hire them, and I'd urge other people to not support this place.”

“So glad now the staff at nearby Slug & Lettuce were rude and uncaring, so we left. Instead just along Deansgate we found Katsouris Deli as a place to grab late brekkers. Good move on our part. Very open well lit cafe diner with a nice well priced menu. My wife and I went lightish with a croque monsenior for me and she had sausage and bacon bap, plus some fries. The food was fresh, filling and delicious. The fries had a herby sprinkle that made them pop. What is more they have lots of flavours of cannolis priced lower than what I paid in London. Enjoyed our food and the vibe about this place. Thoroughly recommend it compared to that pub up the road.”
