  “We ordered a buffet from Golden Lake for our son's first birthday party for around 50 guests, and it was excellent from start to finish. The food arrived hot, fresh and full of flavour. The roast duck with plum sauce was the clear favourite, with many guests commenting on how delicious it was. The chicken with ginger & spring onion was tender and flavourful, the crispy chicken in lemon sauce was perfectly crispy with a lovely balance of sweetness, the beef in black pepper sauce was rich and savoury, and the king prawns with mixed vegetables were fresh and generously portioned. The chicken chow mein, Singapore vermicelli, and egg fried rice were all cooked beautifully and were very popular too. Even the vegetable dishes like the broccoli with garlic and stir-fried bean sprouts were fresh and well-seasoned. The portions were incredibly generous, giving everyone plenty to enjoy, with leftovers for some guests to take home as well. They were so friendly, patient and helpful throughout the ordering process, giving good advice and the food was delivered promptly to our doorstep exactly as arranged. We are so happy with the quality, service and value. We highly recommend Golden Lake for anyone looking for delicious, authentic Chinese catering for a party or special occasion. We'll definitely be ordering from them again.”

  “I am always very honest with my reviews...it was very hard to stay honest with this one! The food was terrible I was charged over 20 pound and did not receive my full order, (curry on one rice and a separate large curry pot) when calling to discuss my order I was shouted at immediately saying I did not order said items, this telling me she knew her mistake and was anticipating my call and I was hung up on. All I wanted was the sauce to be able to eat my food as it would have been some what dry without it. I had to drive to an alternative chippy to get curry sauce and drinks. And forcing me to eat cold food. I will never use here again and a refund would definitely be appropriate in this situation as my order and the charged amount do not equate with online prices. Avoid these thieves.”

  “Best Chinese chippy takeaway in Manchester. We always order from here and when we can't (because they're closed on Sundays) no other places are as good or as cheap. The portions are also a better size than other places we've tried. They do both Chinese and English very very well.”
