Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the Sunday roast sharing board, with several calling it fantastic and one naming it the very best thing on the menu. A Sunday lunch board paired with the dessert board also earns praise. Close behind are the pork belly and lamb tacos, with the pork singled out, and a Mexican eggs hash described as sublime. The full English gets a mention too, with the homemade beans a favourite, and one coeliac diner found good choices. Service is repeatedly called friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is described as fresh and beautifully presented. The criticisms are specific. One reviewer found the sharing platter disappointing, with small meat portions, dry cabbage, potatoes that were not crispy and only two carrots between two people. Another felt the coffee could be better. A third described untrained service staff, with empty bottles left on the table and finished plates lingering until the next course arrived.

“We eat here a lot when we come to visit my Aunty. The food is excellent, each dish has its own interesting take., which makes the menu individual. Sunday roast sharing platter is the very best”

“The food was quite delicious. The Interior was okay, I guess with a small space you do what you can. We did have a nice table, probably the best table in the restaurant. I would like to mention the service. Service staff was a little untrained. Probably their first in a mid to upscale restaurant. Empty drink bottles left on the table. We didn't order wine and the glasses were not cleared. When some of the finished plates were cleared some were left on the table until the next course arrived. Like I used tell my service staff, "its the little things".”

“We visited this gorgeous establishment midweek mid morning, so wasn't too busy, but I can understand why the reviews are so good. Staff were faultless and friendly and our order was made quickly and very fresh. My partner had the french toast and I had an amazing dish, which quite frankly, is one of the best things ive put in my mouth before noon 😋 Mexican eggs hash was sublime. Give this place a go as you will not be disappointed. 5 star”

“Food at fortysix is always amazing and the full English did not disappoint! Bit different to a traditional breakfast, the homemade beans were my favourite bit. Absolutely lovely. Would highly recommend. The coffee could be better though.”
