Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the coffee, with one saying they bought beans to take home and another calling it the best in the area. Close behind are the scones, including a spicy fruity "Malton Monster" and a cheese scone with chutney, plus a toasted sandwich and a quiche that sells out fast. One describes a barista lesson, and another a bistro dinner ending with a sticky toffee pudding.

“BARISTA COURSE - August 2026 Booked a Barista lesson at the fantastic @leonis_malton with owner Dom. To be honest I thought the team set up the machine first thing and it "just" brewed coffee for the rest of the day, but it requires a constant change of grind to get the optimum brew time for the perfect coffee. I tasted the coffee during the first third of the brew time, the middle third and the last. Each was so different - the first being blow your head off strong, the middle sweeter, and the last seemed like brown water, but that was the part that packed a punch with the caffeine - fascinating. And they all come together for the perfect cup. I usually ask for a black Americano these days (double espresso topped up with hot water), but it turns out the team always serve a tall black - hot water with double expresso added after. It doesn't disperse the crema, so tastes so much better even though technically it's the same! (Tall black is the bottom one in the pic.) As for the perfect milk for a flat white.... let's say I won't be creating anything arty for the foreseeable future, but we learnt so much about how to get the right texture of milk. Well, how to try anyway 😆. The video of Dom adding the milk properly is going to be watched a heck of a lot!! A fascinating few hours, and I have even more respect for professional Baristas. And Dom is one of the best. Thank you for being so generous with your time and insights. If you need a present for anyone who loves coffee I can't recommend this enough. BISTRO NIGHT - Jan 2026 - Finally able to attend one of the bistro dinners at Leoni. Generous portions of tasty food. The sticky toffee pudding was so light! Not in the photo were canapes and prosecco on arrival, the cheeseboard and petit four with coffee! Such great value. Lovely service from the friendly staff. I almost don't want to recommend it as it will be impossible to get a table 😆.”
