About The Louth
The Louth is a pub on High St in Mablethorpe, decorated in 70s style, with a digital jukebox that plays 70s hits. The kitchen serves breakfast, and the carvery comes with Yorkshires and roast potatoes. Fish and chips is also on the menu, and chips or cheesy chips can be ordered as sides. A mixed grill and spare ribs meal is listed as well. Breakfast, carvery and grill dishes all come from the same kitchen, so one visit can cover a morning meal or a roast.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is the clearest draw, with one reviewer going back for it repeatedly after a first pint and another who always stops in for it when visiting family. Staff are consistently described as friendly and welcoming, and one parent says they went well out of their way to find something safe for a child with multiple food allergies. Others mention big portions, a spare ribs meal, and that dogs are welcome. The kitchen draws sharper complaints. Several report waiting 45 minutes for food when the pub was far from full, and the mains that followed were criticised as burnt fish, small greasy chips, a tiny salmon portion with flavourless hollandaise, and burnt pizza and mixed grill. A carvery diner describes beef that was mostly fat, Yorkshires like play dough and roast potatoes like charcoal. One reviewer also describes a dismissive exchange at the bar over a soup offer. Another never got to order the treacle pudding and custard because the wait for mains ran so long.

“Absolutely awful food. I wouldn’t bother wasting your money. Burnt pizza burnt meat for the mixed grill. Tasteless stake chicken and pork Absolutely disgusting 🤢 chef needs sacking. We chose this place because of its reviews on Google. You all must have no taste buds and like eating cardboard. Avoid”

“We waited 45 minutes for our food although it wasn't that busy. Unfortunately when it did arrived it was definitely not worth the wait. My mum in law ordered the salmon and it was a very small piece, the hollandaise sauce and the coleslaw was flavourless. She was disappointed. Myself and my husband ordered the fish and chips and the fish was burnt and very dry. I wouldn't class what I had on my plate as chips they were small greasy bottom of the frozen bag bits. My daughter had a chicken wrap with chips with coleslaw. She left her chips as they were very greasy and she didn't like the coleslaw.”

“Have been today and whole experience has put us off ever coming back. We went to order and older gentleman served us, my mother in law ordered two hot chocolates, the guy turned to til and said “oh great” Then turned to serve me and I asked about a soup offer, he said “that’s only in this deal”….that’s absolutely fine, he then walked off without saying another word, I thought to check what soup it was (which I had asked), he then came back out a few minutes later with two hot chocolates and walked off. The lady next to me, a regular, told me he’s a nasty piece of work. Another guy then came over, was absolutely lovely and took my food and drink order. Half an hour later we were still waiting for our food, we ordered a portion of chips and a cheesy chips….first time I’ve ever waited that long for chips. We were that hungry we didn’t even bother to complain as the service we had received so far I didn’t believe I’d get very far and we had a bus to get. My daughter had the chips and half way down found one with sauce on and the cheesy chips looked like they had been in the microwave 15minutes”
