Quick info
About Spring Tide
Spring Tide is a family pub on Kirkley Rise in Lowestoft, close to the beach. Two play areas give families with children space to spend a meal, and dogs are welcome too. Staff take food orders at the table rather than at the bar, so guests stay seated from start to finish. The menu opens with mushrooms as a starter and moves on to pub mains, including a mega mixed grill. Vegetarians can order a vegetarian burger served with quinoa, brown rice and salad instead of bun and fries, and salad can replace chips on other dishes. Cask ales, draught beers and an extensive wine menu sit alongside the food. Breakfast is served on Saturday mornings.

Customer Review Summary
Friendly, accommodating staff are the most frequent draw. One party was seated near the toilets at their request, and a large group with small children and a disabled elderly relative had their food orders taken at the table. Food earns praise too, including a vegetarian burger served with quinoa, brown rice and salad instead of bun and fries, and a salad swapped in for chips. Several call the voucher discount on mains a bonus. Complaints are specific. One diner called the beef and lamb shish kebab closer to kofte and the mega mixed grill chewy, and described it as false advertising on the menu. Another received steaks medium instead of medium rare and found the cauliflower wings small. One reviewer reports a very long delay before starters arrived, with some dishes out of stock, and a breakfast diner found the reused printed menus dirty and the toast poor. Still, one returning birthday party was recognised on arrival, and the server asked how they had settled into their new house.

“We had a really lovely experience here. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. A special thank you to Sharon, who seated us and looked after us extremely well. She was very understanding of our needs and made sure we were seated close to the toilets, which made a huge difference and allowed us to relax and enjoy our meal without worrying. Katie took our food orders and was friendly, helpful and attentive throughout, and Erin also assisted with the food and made sure everything was taken care of. It’s really appreciated when staff take the time to understand their customers and make suitable accommodations rather than making you feel like an inconvenience. Great food, excellent service and genuinely caring staff. A big thank you to Sharon, Katie and Erin for making our visit such an enjoyable one. We would definitely recommend and happily return! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Very welcoming staff, nice clean environment and lay out. The food was good, we visited because we had a voucher so at 40% off it was good value. We asked for steaks cooked medium rare but they were more medium. Our server Sharon was very good. The portion size of the cauliflower wings was quite small for the price.”

“It was a birthday celebration on our visit last night and when greeted we were recognised and welcomed as previous customers. Katie was brilliant and remembered us from two months ago, she asked if we had settled in to our new house and spoke about the local amenities available for us.. It is so refreshing to have such excellent customer and she is 100% an asset to The Spring Tide and we will be returning in due course.”

“Went to Sping Tide today for my husband’s birthday and the food was awful. I ordered the beef and lamb shish kebab, however, this was not shish meat and was more like kofte. False advertising on the menu. My husband ordered the mega mixed grill which was completely chewy. Overall, we were very disappointed. We won’t be returning.”
