Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the staff, describing them as attentive, lovely and quick to make a fuss of children and a baby. Food praise centers on an 8oz rump steak that one reviewer called tender, served with onion rings, skinny fries and a pepper sauce. Others name fajitas, the dockers delight cocktail and a separate gluten free menu with a huge selection, and portions are called big and tasty. The caveats are specific. One reviewer found a 6oz burger bland, with dry bread, chewy onion rings and a few bacon bits instead of rashers, and was asked about drinks three times by three different people. Another found the Sunday lamb a bit tough, though the flavour was lovely. A group that settled in for a long evening of jokes and chat with staff found the bill slow to arrive, and that reviewer suggests telling the staff if in a hurry.

“Visited The Old Docks on a recent trip to Derry. Loved the layout and design, very trendy. Menu was brilliant with a vast selection of dishes. I had fajitas and they were delicious. Staff were very attentive and couldn't have done more for me. Highly recommend. Looking forward to returning next time in up.”

“My husband and I had dinner here on Thursday the 23rd July and it was outstanding. He had oriental chicken with noodles and skinny fries as a side. Me, oh boy!!!!! I had the 8oz. Rump steak, onion rings and skinny fries along with pepper sauce. The knife cut through the steak like butter, so so tender and it was well done, fries were crispy and fluffy, onion rings just perfect.the pepper sauce was the best I've ever tasted and the steak the absolute best I've ever had eating out. The whole meal was gorgeous. We were in Londonderry for 2 days and this was our last day before going home. What a way to end the day and holiday. We live in Groomsport and for any of you that don't know where it is, it's between Bangor and Donaghadee. North down. So it's not as if we can frequently go to the old docks bar and grill. Pity. Told my friends back home who are going to Portrush and because I was going on about it so much they're going to visit.they won't be disappointed. Staff were really lovely and attentive.”

“Met up with some friends and requested a table at the back. Excellent service. Staff returned often to check on us and move things along. Cracking a few jokes as they went. We began at 5pm, we were there a long time catching up. I left around 9pm, my chums a bit later still. Very accommodating as we sure made a lot of noise with jokes and chat. A great night during my trip to the city. Food was excellent and everything came in a timely way. They took a wee while getting the bill sorted, but if you are in a hurry, tell them. We were not.”
