Customer Review Summary

Diners most often praise the fish and chips, described as very fresh with perfectly crispy fish, and one reviewer says a picky son finished a whole plate. The burgers come close behind, including a lamb burger and a beef burger with Gorgonzola that one reviewer recommends for serious flavor, while another reviewer's wife called the burger her favorite of all time. The tartare, whitebait and a perfectly cooked steak also earn praise, along with small plates, cocktails and a happy hour. Reviewers describe attentive, welcoming staff, including accommodating service for a large family group and a private room used for a wine tasting. The caveats are about service. One couple with a booking describe a rude greeter who pointed to a table, said "sit," and left them about 15 minutes without menus, though they found the food and wine excellent. Another reviewer says service suffered a little and advises patience. Several reviewers say they would return, and one already went back a second time.

“Popped in for some cocktails and food! Both were very tasty, the lamb burger was great and all the small plates full of flavour. They also do Crêpes and brunch now which is great news.”

“Get the Beef Burger with Gonzola cheese if you what serious flavor! Yes service suffered a little. Be patient. This local spot has a good atmosphere and the Owner really cares.”

“Great experience with extended family. The staff were very accommodating for our large group, one of the waiters (I forgot his name) had a great sense of humour. Food was excellent, we very much enjoyed our time here, thank you.”

“I’ve eaten here a couple of times, and I was really happy with the experience. The tartare was wonderful. Full of flavour without over seasoning. The whitebait was great as well! The steak was perfectly cooked, couldn’t find a fault in it even if I wanted too.”

“We visited on the 4th of October for our 19:30 booking, arrived around 19:40. A few people were ahead of us, and the gentleman at the door (possibly the floor manager) escorted them nicely with menus. When it was our turn, I gave my name and time, but he didn’t even look at us — just pointed to a table and, in a rude tone, told us to “sit.” No menu, no welcome, nothing. After waiting about 15 minutes, we finally got our menus. Thankfully, the food was great, our waitress was lovely, and the gentleman serving drinks (maybe the bar manager) was very friendly. As a couple working in the same industry, we were really disappointed by the poor welcome, especially since everything else — food, wine, and service — was excellent.”
