Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out attentive service, from a server who recommended dishes and surprised a birthday diner with dessert to front of house who moved a guest to a quieter table. Food comes close behind: the robata grill, tuna tartare, salmon teriyaki, shrimp tempura and a rich miso soup, plus a premium tasting menu paired with wine. Brunch draws mixed reactions. One family loved the endless starters but found the ribs and salmon mains lacking in flavour, and an unrequested portion of rice arrived. One reviewer at an early dinner seating found the bottomless brunch crowd too loud for conversation, and staff dismissed a request to move. Another found a brunch calm, with no music playing. Smaller complaints include fatty octopus and crowded chef's tables. Reviewers suggest booking the quieter lounge and asking for the weekday happy hour menu. One diner who asked to change tables for a quieter spot was accommodated by the front of house straight away.

“The staff here were absolutely amazing. Firstly, I asked to move table to somewhere quieter and the front of house were extremely accommodating Then I was served by a Tunisian waiter and he was absolutely brilliant. Extremely kind and attentive. Tuna tartare and salmon teriyaki were both amazing. I would only say that the nigiri were very fit. And 14.5% service is crazy!”

“A special thank you to【Mehdi】! who made our evening truly memorable. He was incredibly attentive, warm and professional throughout our visit. Mehdi recommended several dishes that perfectly suited our tastes, and every recommendation was excellent. He also surprised my husband with a lovely dessert for his birthday, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made us both feel very touched. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the service was exceptional from beginning to end. Mehdi’s genuine care and attention to detail made the celebration feel extra special. Thank you, Mehdi, and the whole ROKA Canary Wharf team, for giving us such a beautiful birthday experience. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this restaurant!”

“The food was enjoyable overall, however, the dining experience is overshadowed by the ambience and the low standard of service. I booked this restaurant to mark a special occasion, we were seated for dinner service at 5.30pm at an awful table by the wall, surrounded by incredibly loud patrons from the "bottomless brunch" crowd. It was genuinely far too loud to have a normal conversation, the noise was migraine inducing. I did ask if we could move somewhere else; the other end of the restaurant looked a little quieter, this was dismissed by the staff. I feel like when booking, there needs to be a warning that the restaurant will feel like the smoking area of a club until after 6.30pm onwards. Unfortunately, the atmosphere definitely ruined the overall experience. It's nothing like the fine dining experience it used to be in its heyday.”

“ROKA is an exceptional restaurant. The atmosphere is elegant, calm, and luxurious, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy an outstanding dining experience. The food is absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. What truly made our visit memorable was the impeccable service, attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Highly recommended, and we can't wait to come back 😊”

“The miso soup was absolutely outstanding, rich in flavour and one of the best we’ve had. The rice was honestly the best rice I’ve ever eaten — perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. The shrimp tempura was also perfectly done, light, crisp, and delicious. The octopus was a little fatty for our taste, but everything else was excellent. Our server was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. We sat at the chef’s tables, which was a fun experience, although the seating was a bit crowded and close together. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere.”
