Quick info
About Whiskers & Cream Cat Cafe London
Whiskers & Cream Cat Cafe London is a cat cafe at 593 Holloway Rd, where rescue cats move freely and decide for themselves whether to join a table. The residents include two Maine Coons, Jack and Jasper, and a playful cat named Basil. Staff open each visit by introducing the cats, sharing their names, personalities and stories, and explaining a few house rules. The cats can head downstairs for space or retreat to high places and hiding spots. Some end up at the table with guests, and Jasper arrives in a basket while Jack has a chair of his own. The menu centres on afternoon tea with build-your-own sandwiches, and the hot chocolate comes in a variety of flavours. Vegan options are available, and the team caters to dietary needs such as coeliac. A study session option gives visitors a way to work through their time-limited slot with the cats nearby. The cafe is closed on Wednesdays.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the resident cats, especially the Maine Coon brothers Jack and Jasper, who join guests at their tables. Kittens Basil and Sage are described as playful, and the cats are called relaxed and well cared for, with places to hide or go downstairs when they want space. Staff are praised for explaining the rules, sharing each cat's rescue story, and catering to a guest with coeliac disease at afternoon tea. Close behind is the hot chocolate, called rich and offered in fantastic variety, plus a biscoff latte with banana bread. Several call the venue clean. Complaints centre on cost and pace: one reviewer calls afternoon tea for three a lot of money for what is offered, another finds service very slow, and one says portions are small. One would like cat profiles and adoption information. One reviewer suggests booking a table in advance. Staff even brought a chair so Jack could sit at one table.

“I went here for the first time and had a lovely experience. The staff were very kind and pretty much introduced us on who the cats were and their names, Ollie was the nicest :) The cats are all kind and unafraid of strangers, also overall well kempt and cute. The biscoff latte was wonderful alongside the banana bread and macroons, I was also able to take a dessert for takeaway. It is overall quite expensive but it's expected for such a unique establishment, I would absolutely come here again.”

“We absolutely loved our visit this afternoon. Happy cats living their best lives. Strokes a plenty when they want them. Places to escape up high or hide when they don’t! Staff were all really lovely and you could tell they had the cats best interests at heart. The first thing they do is explain the few rules, important as it keeps the cats safe and happy. They were attentive to both the guests and the cat’s needs. Being a cat lover though and involved in rescue myself, the highlight for me was hearing their stories. One of the managers, a lovely lady with short dark hair, took time to share their stories with us. Although some of them have had sad experiences, they are so loved and safe now - true rescue. Another staff member with long dark hair was telling us about their different personalities, quirks and loves! Just so obvious to see how there are all cat lovers and sharing their passion with guests. A top experience and we would highly recommend to cat lovers! Beware tho, cats do what they want, when they want, how they want!!! They aren’t toys and they bring so much joy watching their natural behaviour- mostly sleeping! Plenty of strokes to be had! Thank you so much for the best afternoon!! We came to celebrate my 40th as I’m a huge cat lover! Well and truely exceeded our expectations!”

“We had an absolutely wonderful time at Whiskers and Cream Cafe. The cafe is home to ten incredibly friendly cats, and despite all the feline company, the place is impeccably clean, we honestly did not see a single stray cat hair anywhere! The food portions are on the smaller side, but they are precise, well-crafted, and delicious. We also highly recommend trying the hot chocolate; they offer a fantastic variety, and it is exceptionally tasty. A quick tip for future visitors: the sessions are time-limited, and it is highly recommended to book your table in advance to secure a spot. My daughters thoroughly enjoyed the experience, making it a highly memorable and fun outing for all of us!”

“This had to be one of the best experiences I had on my trip to London! The staff is incredibly kind and the kitties are so adorable and friendly! The food and drinks were also delicious all for an amazing price! I highly recommend Whiskers and Cream for afternoon tea with some fluffy company!!”

“I went for my 20th birthday for the afternoon tea and the staff are amazing with dietary needs and fully catered to my girlfriend with coeliac disease. The cats are well loved and taken care of with the staff telling guests about their individual personalities. There is a Maine Coon I believe it was Jasper that sits in a basket and they bring him to tables to sit with the guests, and while we ate, the second Maine Coon Jack sat at the table as the staff brought a chair for him to join. They had a playful cat named Basil that got on with the other people in the cafe as well Very chilled and relaxed would definitely come back :) 🩷”
