Customer Review Summary

Reviewers consistently return for the beef tartare, described as well seasoned and so tender it practically melts, alongside the pork liver, praised for being seasoned nicely without going pasty. Close behind, the perogi, stuffed pork roll, and Chicken Kiev draw repeated praise for tasting homemade, with several comparing the cooking to a grandmother's kitchen. The Kompote, made with rhubarb the day one reviewer visited, and the Winter Tea with cinnamon and star anise also get singled out, and multiple diners mention being offered homemade liquor or a shot of Polish vodka as a gesture from the owners. Portions are repeatedly called generous, sometimes overwhelmingly so, and the family-run atmosphere and attentive, friendly staff come up again and again. One group notes waiting around thirty minutes for dinner but says it was worth it, and another describes arriving minutes before closing yet being served anyway, with a forgotten perogi order later given free of charge after the owner apologized. Several reviewers say they plan to return and recommend the restaurant to others.

“I visited this family-owned Polish restaurant with my mom, auntie and uncle. Though it's better to converse in Polish, the staff also speaks English. We were late to our reservation and got there 2 minutes before closing and the owner said that even if we were late, they wouldn't turn away hungry people. Everything that we ordered was very delicious and the portion sizes were very large. For drinks we ordered the Kompote which was made with rhubarb that day (it changes daily), and the Winter Tea was very comforting as it had cinnamon, ginger, star anise and an orange slice in it. For dinner, we ordered the Perogi dish, 2 of the Chicken Kiev dish and 1 of the Pork Liver dish. I ate the Pork liver dish with mashed potatoes and the complimentary side that consisted of a mound of sliced beetroot and sliced cabbage. The liver was good perfectly, it was not pasty and it was seasoned very nicely. I think the lack of plating added to the charm of the ambiance and food feeling like a home-cooked meal from your polish mom you never knew you had. The other dishes were great as well, our waiter actually forgot that we ordered a perogi dish but that's probably because it was later and usually the time they'd close. The owner apologized sincerely and served it to us free of charge. When we finished our meals, the owner poured us each a shot of Polish vodka.”

“Absolutely outstanding restaurant. Had been meaning to come here ever since I moved to Liverpool and finally got the chance to. Service and atmosphere was spot on, met with friendly staff who were kind enough to explain everything and even offered extra things to try like their housemade spirits and these chewy potato dumpling ball things. Ordered the beef tartare to start, very well seasoned and so tender it practically melts in your mouth. Then got the stuffed pork roll and pork liver for mains, the flavours were spot on and portion sizes actually made me worried with how big it was!! Everything about the food was perfect and really gave a homely feel. Will definitely return to try more off the menu!!”

“Exceptional food that truly reminds me of my grandmother’s cooking—everything perfectly seasoned, generous portions, and each dish prepared just right. You can really feel the heart and passion the owners put into every meal. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience authentic homemade Polish cuisine. You won’t be disappointed, and I’ll definitely be coming back again”
