Customer Review Summary

Diners return again and again for the banquet spreads, with the crispy chilli beef and dry ribs coming up as standouts alongside salt and pepper king prawn and sesame prawn toast starters. Portions draw repeated praise as generous, often stretching to a take home box, and the bring your own alcohol setup is mentioned consistently as part of the appeal and value. Several describe it as a long running, family run operation, with some patrons noting decades of regular visits. The recurring caveat is the interior, called dated or tired by multiple reviewers, though most treat it as beside the point given the cooking. One reviewer breaks from the pattern sharply, describing rude staff and tables claimed as full despite empty seats, and suggesting a competitor instead. Another found no alcohol available despite expecting a restaurant setting. Several reviewers advise booking ahead, noting it fills quickly once doors open, with plates cleared and leftovers offered to take home as a matter of course.

“Love this place. You are best booking. Cos you are taking a chance just walking in. It is always busy. You have to take your own alcoholic drinks. They do have some soft drinks for sale. It is a little bit dated decor wise, but I think they are always the best. The food is amazing, portions are big. I always get the salt & pepper king prawn. An I can honestly say I have never had better anywhere else. When your finished, and they come to take the plates, they automatically ask if you want to take what's left home. And of course the answer is yes. Looks like it's a small family run business mum, dad, kids, and they are all lovely. My no1 for a Chinese.”

“It’s my local Chinese restaurant and it has not changed in 30-40 years. I don’t care that the decor is dated, the food is excellent, staff are lovely and you can take your own booze!”
