Customer Review Summary
Large group meals and celebrations are the main draw, with reviewers describing family Christmas dinners and birthdays for a mum's 70th and an 80th, and praising the banquet spread (one calls Banquet B generous) and food they describe as fantastic and incredible. Close behind is the staff, called helpful and accommodating, including setting up and bringing out a birthday cake, with service described as fast and prompt. Reviewers also mention the big fish tank that keeps children amused and say the place is always clean and tidy. Value draws the sharpest split. One long-time diner says Banquet A rose from £16 to £27 and five people ate it all without feeling full. Another found the food bland, was charged extra to swap a beef dish for chicken, and was surprised by a drink price not shown on the menu they were handed. Others call the dishes small and pricey. One reviewer found the rotating table took up too much space, and another noted three portions of rice arriving in one bowl with only two spoons for three people.

“Have been coming here for years. After Stan Hughes died this place went down the pan. Today or last visit. Banquet A has gone from £16 to £27 ph. Use to be unable to eat it all & often took takeaways !!! Not now, five of us we ate it all and none of us were full. Not value for money.”

“Authentic Chinese food, beautiful and traditional setting with a fish tank keeping children amused! The only negative thing is the size of dishes being on the small side to my liking, also quite pricy. Having said that I highly recommend it.”

“We used to love it here but today is our last time coming. Food - Bland. £4 to change a beef meal to a chicken dish from the banquet. £5.40 for a pint of blackcurrant cordial & lemonade - which may I add isnt a price on the menu that they hand you. You Pay that price for an alcoholic pint. Only 1 member of staff who had a smile.”
