  “Disappointed overall – noise level ruinous and missed birthday context... ​Disappointed with our visit. On the positive side, the prices are reasonable, the food matches the price point, the choice is good, and portion sizes are generous. The wine and coffee were both on par as well. ​However, the noise level was completely unbearable. I left with literally ringing ears, I’m sure plenty of people would find the volume intolerable. On top of that, the wooden chairs are god-awful and left us with hard bums all evening. Dessert was less than mediocre, which didn't help. ​What made it particularly disappointing was that I had specifically mentioned on our online reservation that it was a friend’s birthday, hoping for a small touch to make it feel special. L’artista completely ignored this, didn't recognise it at all, which was really, really disappointing. ​To top it off, a service charge was automatically added to the bill. I normally prefer to tip more, but having it forced onto the bill felt like they just expect it, which completely turned me off adding anything extra. ​Taking an average of the whole night, it was a less-than-average experience. Purely based on the deafening noise levels, uncomfortable seating, and lack of attention to detail, I would highly recommend Alloro Ristorante Italiano just further up the road instead, fewer covers, much nicer food, and a far better atmosphere.”

  “The food is amazing, reasonably priced, and really tasty. The portions are huge, so make sure you're hungry when you visit. The staff are attentive, polite and helpful. It is always very busy, so it can be a little noisy (my only slight gripe), but that's to be expected since it's so popular. Love it xx”

  “Delightful! I treated my fiance for his birthday. Booked our table online which was a simple task. Upon arrival we were seated immediately. Service was excellent and attentive, the atmosphere authentic and the food simply marvellous! Highly recommend the traditional bread selection!”

  “L'artista has become my absolute go‑to pizza spot in Letchworth. It’s one of those places where you can instantly feel the heart behind it — a restaurant clearly run on family values, warmth, and genuine hospitality. My favourite pizzas are the Quattro Stagioni and the Americana, and honestly, their pizza 🍕 base is something special. I haven’t found another traditional Italian restaurant that comes close to this recipe or the depth of flavour they achieve. It’s unique, light, and perfectly balanced every single time. The Minestrone veggie soup is truly to die for — rich, comforting, and full of flavour. And there’s a beautiful salad 🥗 with large chunks of avocado served in a large bowl 🥣 that I’d recommend to anyone; it’s fresh, vibrant, and surprisingly memorable. The atmosphere is always lively and buzzing. It’s the kind of place where big family meet‑ups feel natural, where the noise is part of the charm, and where you always feel welcome. Prices are very fair, especially considering the consistently top‑quality meals. A wonderful, reliable, heart‑warming Italian spot — L’Artista never disappoints.”

  “Amazing Pizza made by Francesco, real italian style and taste !!! ... A tutti gli italiani in zona, qui trovate la Vera Pizza Italiana !!! Buonissima !!! ... I nearly forgot ... Great tiramisu and latte in a wonderful glass mug !!! ... After 3 months now since discovering this place, we are now regular clients of this amazing restaurant. The seafood is fantastic, i dearly recommended the cold sea food antipasto, fresh and delicious, and meantime we also tried pasta and other main traditional italian dishes, all very tasty and delicious. My husband loves this place for its food ... The only issues, portions are too big !!!”

  “Pasta and risotto tasted good and the service was very nice. The atmosphere was really Italian! For the pizza, my expectation was the Neapolitan one, yet the crust seems to be the Apulian ones… We also tried the lemon sorbet, it reminds me the taste from Capri!”

  “Fantastic food and service here as always. Great menu, nothing is a hassle for them to rustle up something, enormous portions and very very reasonable prices. Staff just flying around keeping everything going. Always a place to go to when I get home 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼”

  “Great pizza and pasta dishes. The squid calamari was decent for UK seafood. Unfortunately inside it was incredibly loud, too loud to have your own thoughts. The waiters kindly moved us outside and were great for the first half of the night. Second half it was impossible to get their attention when sat outside as they didn’t come outside anymore. Felt ignored for a good twenty minutes at least. Chocolate cake was VERY dry.”

  “We have been coming to L'Artista for about 20 years and it has remained consistently good throughout that time. It is always busy & buzzy with a friendly atmosphere, it can be quite noisy but that is part of the attraction, but the best thing is the food. It has a large menu and can cater for a wide range of tastes, it is always fresh and well presented. They make pizza in the restaurant which is fun to watch as it is quite an art. The menu represents really good value for money and there is a wide selection of drinks. People celebrating a birthday are treated to a sparkling desert and the singing of Happy Birthday which is fun. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.”

  “Lovely authentic Italian restaurant. The food was wholesome and fresh. We had a pizza and a number of pasta dishes, they were all delicious. Portion size is super generous and priced fairly. This is a family friendly location that is accessible, with indoor and outdoor seating. The team is approachable and efficient. The venue is spacious and can accommodate quite a lot of tables. It is often busy and the downside is it can be quite loud inside and you cannot have a conversation without raising your voice.”
