Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the chicken katsu, served in a bento box or as a curry, with several calling the chicken light, crispy and nicely cooked. Close behind are the sushi and nigiri, where one reviewer praises the tuna, salmon and ebi, and the live fish pond and koi bridge, which come up repeatedly in the praise for the atmosphere. Gyoza, seafood ramen, a salmon roll and a raspberry lemonade also earn individual mentions, and staff are described as friendly. The complaints are specific. Two reviewers describe greasy food, including oil-soaked tofu and tempura, and hard, old-tasting rice. One family birthday meal had starters and mains arriving out of order, with a hair found in the sushi and two drinks that never came. Another reviewer waited a long stretch to give their order on a set-menu Valentine's night. Others find the tempura bland, the curry or rice topping too salty, and one says the food tasted like leftovers. One bento box arrived with two pieces of orange as the fruit.

“Me and my mates went there in May 2026 and were certainly fooled by the 4.3 stars review from Google. In my humble opinion, it deserves no more than 1 star (out of 5). Food wasn’t good. The contents tasted and smelled like leftovers from a few days ago! Also more expensive than others Japanese restaurants in Leeds. We only went there because another Japanese restaurant nearby was full. What a mistake! Would never go back there again and would not recommend any one going there unless you enjoy fishy, un-fresh, blend food and want to waste money for no reason. Also they had in store WiFi but it’s a network you cannot find nor connect. The in store mobile signal is rubbish too.”

“The ambiance of the restaurant was incredible, I especially liked the live fish pond and the general aesthetics. I got the salmon roll appetizer and the chicken curry main and they were both incredibly well made, rich and very tasty (if there’s any feedback it would be they do away with the sprinkle of salt on top the rice; taking a top bite of that was salty). All in all an incredible place to have a meal for any occasion.”

“Wonderful asian restaurant with a beautiful decoration inside and i like the koi-pond and bridge. Really great looking and extremely tasty food. Staff is very friendly and helpful in making a good choice. Great atmosphere.”

“I went this evening for a quick bite after lunch and I was a bit underwhelmed with the food. This is my second time visiting the restaurant, so I decided to opt for the Chicken Katsu Bento Box, served with rice, vegetable tempura, fruit, and salad with the house dressing. The chicken and rice were lovely but for £17.99 I think a lot of more could’ve been done. The vegetable tempura tasted bland and the house salad looked tired. Also, I wasn’t really expecting to receive two piece of orange as ‘fruit’. All in all, it wasn’t the best and has put me off from trying anything else (which is unfortunate because their sushi is amazing!)”

“We first visited this place three years ago and had the bentos, which were decent. The staff were friendly back then—and they still are now, which is always nice to see. On our recent visit, we ordered the full nigiri set, a bento box, and a chicken katsu curry with rice. The chicken katsu was nicely cooked, but the curry leaned a bit too salty for our taste. The nigiri itself was fresh—especially the tuna, salmon, and ebi—though the sea bass wasn’t quite to our liking. The rice in the nigiri was a little inconsistent, with some parts coming across slightly hard. Overall, prices felt fair, and while there were a few minor issues, it was a decent experience.”
