About D's Diner Fast Food & Carryout
D's Diner Fast Food & Carryout is a family-run fish and chip shop and fast food restaurant at 123 Old Glenarm Rd in Larne. The family's history in chip shops stretches back to the 1950s, when a great grandmother opened one to serve the local factory community, and the current shop carries that work on. The menu is built around the fish supper served with chips, alongside a chicken supper with sauce and a pizza menu that includes Hawaiian and garlic pizza. Gluten free versions are available for the fish supper and the pizza, so people avoiding gluten can order from the main menu. Onion rings and small chips are on offer as sides.

Customer Review Summary
Gluten free fish and chips draw the strongest praise, with reviewers singling out the gluten free fish supper, the gluten free goujons and the gluten free gravy, which one calls a must for dipping. Chips are described as gorgeous and cooked perfectly, and one visitor calls the fish one of the best in a few years. Close behind are the pizzas, with a Hawaiian and a garlic pizza mentioned alongside onion rings. Portions are described as massive, from a fish the size of the box to the biggest chicken burger one reviewer has seen. Staff are repeatedly called friendly. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found the Hawaiian short on sauce even after asking for plenty, and compared it with the sauce on the chicken supper. Another saw a fish supper advertised at one price on the big screen and was charged a higher one at the till, with staff explaining the price had gone up. One first-time visitor was offered free pizza while waiting for their food.

“Been going here for a while now, the last time I went in the manager was shouting at the poor staff members. However, Katelyn and Lexie were the two staff members who served me that night. Their service was IMPECCABLE! These girls deserve a raise, they were fabulous!”

“Best gluten free chippy I've ever come across. The gluten free goujons are fantastic and the chips were cooked perfectly. The gluten free gravy was really nice too. I will definitely make a point of calling in next time on my way up the coast.”

“Best gluten free fish and chips in the east of NI. I've had the gluten free fish supper twice, fantastic. The gravy is a must, just give it a go, great to dip. Staff are very friendly and personable. I would recommend everyone to give it a go. Certainly my go to for the odd treat.”
