Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the view over River Ness, with the old buildings across the water and the sunset at dinner both mentioned. Close behind is the food, with diners naming lamb pasandra, a chicken korma with a well-liked nan, lamb jalfrezi with tender meat, and papadums with the pickle tray and mint sauce. Vegetarian dishes are described as flavourful though milder than expected, and several praise friendly, helpful waiters who handled allergy questions. The negatives are sharp, though. Several reviewers say they asked for spicy curries and received sweet ones, and that the manager or owner dismissed the complaint. A replacement biryani reportedly arrived with poorly cooked rice and red chilli powder sprinkled on top, and one reviewer says an undercooked curry burned their stomach. Another describes asking three times for a glass of water that never arrived. One takeaway customer found the korma chicken a little dry but still finished it, and the order came with a free can of ginger beer and a popadum.

“Must go! Hidden Gem in Inverness - good traditional Indian food and one of the moste scenic views of all restaurants of the city. You will enjoy the great view - good prices - and food is ok as well. If you are lucky, you will be served by Suhag, a very attentive and nice waitor.”

“The Indian food is wonderful and comes out quickly but the service needs some work. There’s a dedicated vegetarian section but it’s not labeled with vegan options so just discuss with your server. A different server took our drink order than who brought our order so since my brother ordered a coke and a bottle of water and I ordered a glass of water, I was given a glass of ice with lemon but no water. I asked our server who brought the drinks if I could get a glass of water when he brought the food but he proceeded to dry dishes at the bar. About 10 minutes after we got food, I was able to catch him again and asked for water for a 3rd time and was finally able to get it but he didn’t seem to recognize that he forgot to get water from my 2nd request for water. Our server was often seen back in the kitchen so he was hard to get ahold of so we ended up asking another server for our check. If you try to go to Inverness for dinner in busy restaurants, I would recommend making a reservation since 2 places we tried were fully booked and a 3rd place had a 45 minute wait so we ended up going here which had no wait but the service explains why.”

“My visit was the worst food experience I've had at this restaurant. The biggest issue was that the manager seemed to have no understanding of authentic Indian food or what "spicy" actually means. We specifically ordered spicy dishes, but the chef prepared them sweet instead. When we spoke to the manager, he insisted that the food was spicy and tasted good. It was surprising that he confidently claimed it was spicy without even tasting it himself. We then ordered a biryani and again requested that it be made spicy. Instead of preparing it properly, they served poorly cooked rice with red chilli powder sprinkled directly on top. That is not how spicy biryani is made. It showed a complete lack of understanding of Indian cuisine. The food quality, the way our concerns were handled, and the manager's attitude made the entire experience very disappointing. We expected much better service and professionalism. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences we've had, and we would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Indian food. I can’t upload without star or negative star otherwise I give zero star to this restaurant.”

“Worst and pathetic experience. Yesterday we went there for dinner to celebrate our friend’s birthday. We ordered 2 curries and clearly mentioned to make spicy but we received sweet. We spoke with owner and he answered rudely that we ordered sweet not spicy and offered green chilies, however chilli also given very late. Again we ordered one more curry and rice again mentioned make it spicy. But they added red chilli powder and made it very spicy out of anger. We complained again but they rejected over complain and told us that owner will not listen any thing and he will not be involved. Very pathetic customer service and food was very bad. They even don’t know Indian taste.”

“Worst experience I would suggest to all customers who is thinking to go for eat in this restaurant We go for dinner and we ask for spicy curry and we receive very sweet curry and also we share this experience to there staff and his reaction is OK IT’s FINE, after that we order again one curry which is without proper cook and uncooked spices which is burn straight my stomach And maybe that’s the reason restaurant is very empty I would suggest go to authentic Indian restaurant not like that restaurant which just put the poster like INDIAN RESTAURANT. Also i give one star otherwise i can’t post this review Not deserve any star”
