About The Lifeboat Inn
The Lifeboat Inn is a pub on Ship Lane in Hunstanton, with rooms for overnight stays and a separate overnight parking option for motorhomes and campervans, so travellers in a van can stay on site. The motorhome parking comes without facilities. Inside, the pub has a log fire and exposed beams, and dogs are welcome in the bar area. The kitchen serves haddock and chips and fish and chips, and a Sunday roast is on the menu. Breakfast is served to both guests and non-guests. For groups, a private dining room is available.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the haddock and chips, called superb and outstanding, with fish and chips praised again by another diner. Close behind are the Sunday roast, the steak with fried courgette sides, and a breakfast described as excellent and plentiful. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and helpful, and the pub is widely described as very dog friendly, with a good beer choice and a log fire and beams noted for character. Campervan and motorhome guests describe a quiet overnight stop. The dogs are also the main complaint. Two reviewers who like dogs found there were too many, one saw dogs allowed on bar chairs, and another was seated in the conservatory beside a large shaggy dog and told no other table was free, so they skipped dinner the next night. A few found the menu limited, wanting more fresh fish, and one noted a small king bed with a tired mattress. One diner was disappointed by the wild mushroom tart.

“As others have said, the Inn has bags of character, (log fire, beams, etc), staff were nice and friendly. Bedroom was nicely decorated, modern & clean, & everything worked as it should! Food was very tasty, with good portions though we would have liked a more extensive menu. I am a dog-lover but there were a few too many dogs there for my liking, great if you a dog owner. 2 different owners let their dogs sit on the chairs in the bar area, which I don't think is acceptable & I let the receiptionist know on check-out (perhaps provide some appropriately placed signs).”

“‘Best lunch ever’ - my 6 year old daughter. She loved her spaghetti bolognese. Service fabulous. Adults enjoyed the soup and sea bream. Nathan the chef 5 stars!”

“Great food, quick service and friendly staff. Angela was lovely, happy to chat and sorted a problem when someone sat at our table when they hadn't booked. She was very professional and dealt with all the tables efficiently. A very happy and pleasant experience 😊”

“Stayed in our camper so can’t comment on the rooms. We ate in the bar area and the atmosphere was lovely. Great and attentive service by Chloe. My fish and chips were really great. My wife was a little disappointed with the wild mushroom tart. Definitely will return.”

“The Lifeboat is a classic inn; step through our door and you can feel the history that is soaked into the very timbers of the building. Order a drink at a bar which has served guests for generations, sit by the fireplace which has kept winter’s chill at bay through the ages, and enjoy the same welcoming atmosphere that has existed here for centuries.”
