Customer Review Summary

Ramen draws the most attention, led by a smoky tonkotsu broth described as creamy, rich and well balanced, with scorched chasu pork, burnt leeks and a soft yolk egg. A vegan ramen is called a great option by a vegetarian diner. Sushi comes close behind, from a K-pop chicken roll one husband loved to a group order of nearly 100 pieces. Karaage fried chicken, dumplings and the Arcade Special rice dish are also named. Several reviewers call the value good, and the staff are repeatedly described as lovely and friendly. One reviewer says the bar will pick a Japanese beer to match their usual choice. The caveats are practical. Two reviewers found the dining room cold, and one waited around 40 minutes for food. Another put a slow service down to only two staff and a tiny kitchen. The one critical review found the sushi rolls had overcooked rice and smoked salmon instead of raw. Staff making a fuss of a nine year old on her birthday lunch stands out among the repeat visits.

“We came here as a group of 10, after another restaurant let us down. So no booking/reservation was made. They told us to come back after an hour, which is very fair, considering our group size. A very intimate restaurant seating area upstairs with food prep/ kitchen downstairs. The food was fresh and amazing. We ordered nearly 100 pieces of sushi and the flavour levels were truely unique and delicious. It was definitely not overpriced, amazing value for money. Thank for accommodating us, it was brilliant birthday treat for me. We will certainly be back. The only thing to note was it was a tad cold in the seating area but the wasabi and picked ginger warmed me up 15/03/26 Back again on mother's day, absolutely brilliant again. Tried the fire tonkotsu ramen and karaage fried chicken alongside sushi. Wow 👌”

“Popped in for lunch and was not disappointed. I had the Arcade Special with rice (deliciously sticky, spicy and sweet) and my wife had dumplings and Sushi (very tasty). The price is good. Service took a while but only two staff and a teeny tiny kitchen. It was well worth the wait.”

“Randomly ended up here while walking area. Loved the ramen. The staff had honest recommendations, not just trying to sell you on anything. We tried the koren influence K-pop sushi roll (never had chicken in sushi), my husband loved it. The vegan ramen was a great option for a vegetarian. Perfect amount of noodles as well. Highly recommend. Well come back again.”

“To start with, it was very cold inside — uncomfortably so. The food took around 40 minutes to arrive. While the prices were reasonable, the sushi rolls weren’t the best; the rice was overcooked and they used smoked salmon instead of raw. On a positive note, the staff were lovely and very friendly.”

“BEST place for ramen in hull & other types of asian dishes! The service was really nice and friendly. Price-wise it is also worth it and i’d totally recommend it. There’s not many good places like these in Hull!! So don’t miss it out”
