  “The food is delicious, full of flavour and always cooked really well especially the King Prawns. Everything tastes fresh and the portions are generous. The staff are genuinely lovely too, so friendly and welcoming, which makes such a difference. You can tell they really care about the food. Easily one of the best Chinese takeaways around.”

  “Don't waste your money, go to Lucky Star or Xing Feng. Ordered 4 items from this place, yet again 1 of the items was wrong, we ordered salt and pepper chicken but they sent us salt and pepper chips, when we called up to correct this she proceeded to make every excuse under the sun that we had to pay even though we'd already paid. First it was because they have crackly phones (somehow our problem), then it was because we added it at the end as if there is some sort of ordering order, then she told us we ordered both salt and pepper chips and salt and pepper chicken but when we challenged her asking when we can expect a refund for the food we didn't receive because we apparently ordered both, the phones were suddenly acting up again. The chips were clearly yesterdays chips or had been sat for a while, and the crispy shredded chicken was more veg than chicken. Save your money, go elsewhere.”

  “Ive had this takeaway a few times in the past no issues but last night was awful, actually wish id rang up to complain but we had both had a long day at work amd i was past it. We spent almost £40 and the food was awful my chicken curry tasted sweet in parts and like a powdery texture in parts and i had noodles what must have been from other dishes mixed in my curry and a weird little black thing, my daughters egg fried rice had part of a cellophane wrapper in. We all actually feel sick today wont be ordering again 🤢”

  “Lately ive been ringing with no answer. Has mayflower closed down? Can anyone confirm? Online says open. Phone just rings forever. Best Chinese in Hull. I've been going 22 years. Food tastes great. Food has always arrived hot. Everything tasted as it should. Lovely staff. As for other reviews of lower stars, ive personally never had a problem. Be going for another 22 years lol. Added 2022 menu. (Subject to change).”

  “Food is amazing, the king prawns are to die for! Beautiful white flesh with no grit. No shrimps here. Also main meal dishes include chips or rice, making it very good value. Delivery has improved, was very quick. The lady Is not rude, but speaks very quickly. Go into the shop, she will give you a smile to great you. Very professional and welcoming. Also the chips....... fresh in the shop, wow!”

  “The mayflower Chinese is my go-to Chinese takeaway. The food in my opinion is of a high standard and better than some of the other local Chinese takeaways. I have sometimes used the delivery service and the food has always arrived in the time stated and always been exactly as ordered.”
