  “My first time trying Nord, and I will definitely be back to try more! Their French toast was divine- the nicest thing I’ve ever put in my mouth! I will be dreaming about it tonight! 😂🤤 From the excellent quality and freshness of the food, to the amount of love and care that is shown through their presentation and generous portions, as well as the family-run feel- I cannot fault it! The staff were friendly and service was efficient. Definitely worth your time and money! I think I found my new obsession… 😍🐷”

  “Amazing food and even better service. The staff went above and beyond for our two dogs, giving us a quiet, air-conditioned basement table. It made our weekend brunch completely stress-free and comfortable for both us and the pups. Five stars!”

  “Really lovely Sunday brunch for 6 people. Surroundings and atmosphere were nice. Food was superb. We all enjoyed our choices. Great selection of food and drinks with all allergens catered for. Sadly didn’t have the space after our brunch for any of the gorgeous looking cakes! Highly recommend.”

  “I popped in for a coffee and ended up having a delicious breakfast. Best smashed avocado I've ever had. They made it vegan and gluten free for me too. They have loads of great looking cakes, many that are vegan and gluten free, plus great sandwiches. The staff are really kind and helpful. The environment is relaxing and comfortable.”

  “Having lived in Brighton for five years, I have finally made it to Nord for brunch and it did not disappoint! Very lovely atmosphere and service and even better food! Their poached egg and sausage from the special menu is a hit and should be added to the permanent menu! Highly recommend to locals who haven’t yet made it here and to tourists looking for a nice little spot :)”

  “Always a pleasure to return to Nord, my favourite spot in Hove for brunch: the coffee is consistently good and the brunch fab. Eggs cooked to perfection, generous portions. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Great, chilled atmosphere.”

  “This place gets a full five stars for the quality of the food. We were really impressed. My scrambled eggs and halloumi were full of gorgeous flavours and my partner’s stack of pancakes was the best she’d ever had in Brighton. The presentation was impressive too and the food came really fast. I’m sorry I’ve had to take off a star or two for the service. We were warned that there was a delay on drinks and as we were eating we didn’t mind waiting. My Americano came after about 30 minutes although without the milk I’d ordered, but my partner’s latte didn’t arrive at all. I asked for a refund on the latte when we had finished our food and were leaving, having realised the latte just wasn’t coming. The barista gave me the refund while telling me that people have to wait for quality and there was no apology. I thought that was a bit odd, as I imagine that part of our order had simply got lost. Which happens. Not a big deal. But I felt like I was being told off which was a shame as the place is otherwise perfect.”

  “Beautifully presented cafe in Skandi style with display of a range of cakes, buns and giant sandwiches to make choosing difficult! Love the addition of free water in coolers with lemon and mint and spring flowers on each table. Despite being busy the service was friendly and prompt. Can vouch for the decaf coffee and almond and cardamom bun which was delightfully gooey! The entrance seems to be wheelchair accessible and I expect staff would make space for wheelchair users. However, the mixed- genders bathroom is down stairs. To order you have to go to the counter which is at the rear of the cafe. Noise levels were high on this busy day with music in the background as well as kitchen/service noises which might limit conversation for people with hearing impairments. Dietary requirements are catered for such as gluten-free, and various milks are offered. Nord occupies a corner of busy Western Road which is in the heart of Hove with lots of cafes and restaurants but for me Nord stands out.”

  “NORD in Hove has been on my list of cafés to visit for a long time and I finally got the opportunity last month. I had such high hopes from what I’ve seen of NORD online and by other reviewers that I decided to push the boat out and make it my birthday destination for a sweet treat. There were no ‘birthday blues’ to be had at NORD. The atmosphere was buzzing with customers yet there was a real sense of homely peacefulness about the place. I sat in a cosy spot by the window for coffee and cake. The guy who served me was an absolute delight to chat to. Having heard especially great things about their carrot cake, (my fave cake ever!) I was hoping that I’d get lucky and as I scanned across the other delicious looking bakes, my eyes locked in on the goods. The carrot cake was exquisite, delicious and everything I wanted and more. By far the best café-served carrot cake that I’ve ever had the luxury of eating and savouring. The coffee was equally delicious with a deep, rich & smooth flavour. It’s not always easy to find a solid americano that isn’t astringently bitter. Highly recommend NORD. I know I’ll be going back. There’s only so long one can deny the call for carrot cake & an atmosphere that is equally just as aesthetically pleasing.”
