Customer Review Summary

The caveats come in several forms. One long-time customer says the food changed after a takeover and a new chef, and another found the sweet and sour pork hard and dry with thick batter, and the fried rice salty and flavourless. Two takeaway customers report delivery orders that seem forgotten until they call to chase them. One couple was asked four times within minutes of arriving whether they were ready to order, though they called the staff polite and the food very nice.

“We had delivered a £50 takeaway. It cost £10 to deliver our food. But we quickly realised that the takeover from Zee had included a new chef. The difference was very marked. The foot lacked its usual taste, and was like any second rate Chinese restaurant. Such a shame as we have been using this restaurant for a long time but this was the first meal since the restaurant was taken over. If only they had kept the chef who had been there for many years The new English owner has also become the chef. Only Chinese chefs can cook Chinese food properly. What a shame!!”

“I went there tonight and ordered my favourite dishes, sweet and sour pork and special fried rice, which used to be of excellent quality and were value for money. Tonight the food was no longer as delicious as before. The sweet and sour pork was hard and dry, with thick batter and thin pork underneath. The fried rice was salty, little ingredients and had no flavour. Food quality has deteriorated tremendously. It costed me £17 for these two dishes autumn last year. Today, it costed me £26.”

“My girlfriend asked if we could go here for her birthday so I booked us a table for a Saturday evening. Within 12 mins of arrival we were asked if we were ready to order 4 times. It instantly felt like we were being rushed and that our cash was more important than the service we were paying for. We must say, the staff were all very polite and the food was very nice but the constant pressure to make an order somewhat diluted then experience. Id recommend it for the food and the venue but I'd remain cautious of the fact you may be rushed.”

“Food is great which is why I always get a take away here. But don't bother ordering a delivery, first time I thought it was just a bad night, twice since then, I think they forget about the online orders until you call and chase them, unfortunate really.”

“Lovely place to face a peaceful dinner. Food was delicious and we felt very well looked after. Loved the koi fish tank. Toilets are super clean and luxurious. Would definitely do there again!”
