About Hornsea Tandoori
Hornsea Tandoori is an Indian restaurant at 122 Newbegin in Hornsea. The menu includes an ackee salmon curry, which sits alongside a range of other curries for diners who want something beyond the usual meat and vegetable choices. Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the curries, with the ackee salmon named repeatedly as the favourite and one reviewer saying everyone at the table wanted to try it. Close behind are the chicken pakoras, a tender chicken nawab khana, shashlik chicken buhna and a peshwari naan, with reviewers describing the flavours as unique and the food as fresh and piping hot. Several call the prices very reasonable and the portions good. Staff come up almost as often as the food, described as kind, friendly, polite and helpful, and a few mention a young man who served them. The caveats are modest. One reviewer who collected a takeaway waited longer than advised on a packed bank holiday, and another says a busy Saturday night left little room around each table. One long-time local says the exterior needs cleaning and a coat of paint, which kept them from visiting for years. One reviewer wished the red chilli dip was sold separately.

“A great Indian restaurant with a good menu, well cooked and great atmosphere. It was a Saturday night and so was packed with not much room around each table, but the staff were polite and helpful. Will be returning.”

“We got takeaway but i went to collect. Had to wait 10 minutes longer then advised but the place was battered as it was bank holiday friday and as the saying goes "good things deffinately came to those who waited". The food was exceptional i had shashlik chicken buhna, chicken pakoras, chilli garlic rice and a peshwahri naan. BEST I HAVE EVEE EATEN!!!. Absolutely top notch. The mrs had some dish with paneer in and said the same. Excellent.”

“Nicest Indian meal I've ever had, food gorgeous, staff Really friendly and funny. Kerb appeal atrocious, needs cleaning and lick of paint, that was the only reason that after 6 years in Hornsea I've not been in, will come again, but come on guys tidy it up a bit please”

“Seriously amazing. They are so kind here and accommodating, the curries are out of this world, best we’ve ever had. Salmon that I had was amazing, everyone wanted to try it! If this is your local think yourselves lucky, this is a one in a million curry!!! The young lad that served us think he’s only 16 he was wonderful and so were the other 2, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We love the area and this was our first time here: we will we back! Thank you guys so much! Forever dreaming of Hornsea curry till we come back!”
