About Wavecrest Cafe
A minute or two's walk from the sand at Church Bay, Wavecrest Cafe is a cafe and tea room on Rhyd-wyn in Holyhead, sitting just off the beach beside the car park on the Anglesey coastal path. The garden looks out to sea and takes dogs, so walkers can stop with them, and there is seating indoors as well. Around 20 dishes are made in house, including a fish pie and prawn baguettes, with a crab platter for those after something from the water. Large scones arrive with jam and cream, among them a strawberry cream version, and cakes sit alongside coffee, hot chocolate and homemade green smoothies. Beer is poured as well as hot drinks. Tables are walk-in, and the cafe opens Thursday to Sunday.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the giant scones with jam and cream, with one calling theirs the best they have ever had and another arriving after seeing photos of them. Close behind is the fish pie, described by one diner as the best they have had, and a crab platter, prawn baguettes and a chip bowl also get mentions. Homemade green smoothies, cakes, good coffee, hot chocolate and ice cream round out the praise. Staff are repeatedly called lovely and friendly, and one group of walkers on the coastal path says the team stayed open to serve them a cold beer and gave them the last scone on the house. The garden and outdoor seating draw comment, including one visit with two greyhounds, along with the sea view and a short walk to the beach. One reviewer enjoyed a local indie group playing on a Bank Holiday Monday. No recurring complaints appear. A couple staying at a nearby campsite came back on consecutive days, and another pair returned the next day for the scones.
