  “On the first Monday of every month they have an incredible gluten free menu, with gluten free battered cod and chips, battered sausage and chips, onion rings, curry sauce and more!! Everything was absolutely delicious, the batter was so crispy and the chips were the perfect soft texture. It’s so rare to find gluten free onion rings, these tasted so fresh! It’s also such a treat to find gluten free curry sauce, and they also have gluten free vinegar and ketchup. Highly recommend for delicious fish and chips and gluten free options”

  “Three of us had a lovely Fish and Chips supper here on 31st July 26. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We had Mushy Peas and Curry sauce too along with cups of tea. The fish was cooked perfectly and we all loved the chips too. What made it extra special was the friendly fabulous service we received from Saj and Fin. They were both super friendly and helpful. They really made our trip to the restaurant even more special. Keep up the good work folks. And THANK YOU. ❤️”

  “Sat in for fish, chips and mushy peas today. Pensioner's Special! Bread, butter and a pot of tea included!! Service was great - lovely friendly waitress. Food was absolutely spot on! The batter on the lovely white fish was so nice and crispy - best we've had since we were there last time!! My husband picked his fish up and ate it like a sandwich. We will most definitely be back! Would recommend this lovely little fish bar to anyone!!!”

  “We had very good fish here, but the chips tasted liked they'd been 'par-boiled' - it's a method they used to use when desperate troops needed fed during the war. Service was good, but while we were there although they price was already high, they were putting up menu with even *higher* prices. Vinegar is watered down to the point you can't taste it. Service was good, fish was cooked fresh while we waited, and tasted liked cooked in actual clean oil - a rarity these days! They now have a choice: Can half their prices and be successful, with great fish, or they can have higher prices and no one will go. I knocked 1* off as the chips were precooked, I've given 5 on atmosphere as what kind of atmosphere do you expect in a chippy, a party with a DJ?”

  “In the interests of transparency, we won a meal voucher for Hexham Fish Bar. Had never been before but I do love a good fish and chips. This place didn’t disappoint, I can’t remember when I had Cod this good. My partner had chicken curry she said pretty much the same. The place was simply outstanding. I know it was a prize that took me there but I visit Hexham quite regularly and I will be a very frequent visitor. A real gem 🤙🏻”

  “Went around 3.45 pm at 17/12/2025. Asked the cashier if there is any offer ongoing for Dine In. Said no. Check the board if you wish. Sounds rude and unprofessional. Then ordered small cod amd chips. Waited 15 mins for the order to arrive. Food was ok but overcooked ( see pic) . Then saw a leaflet on the table Fish and Hake with any sauce is 10!. Wish the server could tell me about this. Management needs more training so customers can get best deal. Also be careful they charge you for Cod and serve Hake. In my case I was not sure but other tables fish seems same to me as well which was Hake when I asked them. So when yoi order ask the person if this is cod or Hake you are getting. I won't recommend this place.”

  “Really enjoyed the food here! Lovely little place in a lovely town! The service was great, the lady serving us was very friendly and the food was all cooked fresh! I would definitely go back if I was up that way again! Prices were slightly expensive but we were sitting in so expected to pay a bit more!”

  “Fabulous takeout. We got fish and chips, fish bites and chips, a chip butty and sauces. Firstly we were impressed with the quality of the fish - superb! Lovely crispy batter and tasty chips too. The tartar sauce and curry sauce were also excellent. We also go battered Oreos for dessert just to see what they were like; awesome! Lovely friendly service and fairly priced too. Would not hesitate to recommend.”
