Customer Review Summary

Ramen is the most frequent draw, with the spicy miso ramen singled out for its spice level and generous meat, and one first-time ramen eater praising it alongside the cocktails. Close behind, the Korean chicken bao and chicken bao get praise, and gyozas and crispy chicken sushi rolls are called nice and well presented. Several describe friendly, welcoming staff, and one reviewer with a severe onion allergy says the team prepared a list of unsafe dishes ahead of the visit and talked through the safe ones. Generous portions come up, though another reviewer found the ramen small with too little broth. Freshness is mixed: one called the ramen not sparkling with freshness, and another waited almost 45 minutes for food. Other complaints name the ebi uramaki with little beyond prawn, a kimchi side that was mostly carrots, a grassy iced matcha, a tea tasting of seaweed, and a katsu curry with hard, undercooked rice. One reviewer felt it was expensive for okay quality. A first-timer says the server explained the whole menu.

“As an oriental restaurant that has rice as its staple cuisine, how have I ordered a katsu curry where the rice is undercooked, hard and has a bite to it! If the chef is Asian I’m shocked at how this can be so wrong. The gyoza were fine.”

“Food was a bit mixed. Not terrible, but not good either. The chicken bao, gyozas and crispy chicken sushi rolls were nice and well presented. I was disappointed in the ebi uramaki, which arrived with just prawn with little other filling. The kimchi side dish was mostly carrots. The iced matcha was the most disappointing unfortunately. It was very grassy and not the green tea taste of authentic matcha. Overall it was alright, service was good and the place looks nice inside. Just a bit expensive for the okay quality food.”

“Me and my partner have been here on multiple occasions, each time greeted with cheerful attitude and genuine care. The food is always made to a high standard and has always excelled expectations. We’ve recommended Bao to the Broth to multiple people, all of whom agree that it is a brilliant place to go no matter the occasion. I’m currently writing this after having a takeaway from them, and it’s just as good as eating in.”

“Amazing service! I have a rare allergy to onion, so I called ahead before our visit. When we arrived, the staff had already prepared a list of dishes that I wouldn't be able to eat. This was a first for me in a restaurant and it was incredibly thoughtful. I often have difficult experiences when dining out and have even been told to "just risk it" before. Unfortunately, that's not an option for me, as exposure to onion can cause anaphylaxis, a severe and potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. Because of this, eating out can be quite anxiety-inducing. However, the team at Bao to the Broth had clearly planned ahead, took my allergy seriously, and carefully talked me through the dishes that were safe for me to enjoy. Their attention to detail and understanding immediately put me at ease and made me feel confident dining there. The food was absolutely delicious, and the outstanding customer service made the experience even better. Thank you for making dining out feel safe, stress-free, and enjoyable. I will definitely be returning! 😊”

“Delicious food. The spicy miso ramen was really good, and just the right level of spiciness. It was very generous with the portion of meat too. Korean chicken bao also delicious, and freshly cooked”
