Quick info
About Park Shahri Naw Restaurant
Park Shahri Naw Restaurant, an Afghan restaurant in Hayes, sits round the back of the SK Hotel, so the hotel frontage is not the door to head for. Behind it, a large traditional seating area of the kind found in Afghanistan gives the dining room its shape, with tables outside as well for anyone who prefers to eat in the open air. The kitchen is halal, and the menu runs from Afghan Tikka Kebab to Chapli Kebab and Manto, with rice available as an addition to the kebabs. Everything is cooked fresh once ordered, so a wait after ordering comes with the territory, and the team brings food and drinks out to the table. A private dining room handles groups, and dogs are welcome alongside their owners. Reservations are recommended, and the restaurant opens daily. Orders can also be packed up for takeaway and eaten off site.

Customer Review Summary
The Afghan cooking is what draws reviewers back, with one group singling out a spread of Afghan Tikka Kebab, Manto, Chapli Kebab and Qabuli, and another calling the lamb the best they had eaten in the UK. Close behind is the sense of discovery: several nearly missed the place because of the hotel frontage and describe driving round the back to find it, and first timers to Afghan food say they were converted. Staff are repeatedly called polite and attentive, and portions and prices come up as reasonable, though one reviewer found the kebabs expensive, more so served with rice. Waiting is a recurring theme, framed by one takeaway customer as the price of food made from scratch and by another as over an hour. The strongest complaints come from repeat customers who say quality slipped under new owners, citing forgotten drinks, dishes arriving at different times, and one reviewer reporting a hair in the food and a half full soup bowl that went unreplaced.

“Beautifully decorated restaurant providing both options of indoor and outdoor dining. The restaurant also has a large traditional seating area similar to that in Afghanistan. Quality of food is exceptional, prices are reasonable and customer service is exceptional.”

“We almost didn’t find it because of the hotel front, but so glad we drove to the back and found the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, flavours and spices were perfect. I can’t recommend it enough. Great portions and quality of food for the price. Having never had Afghan food before, we are converted. The staff were very polite and attentive also. give it a try, you will not be disappointed!!!”

““If you ever end up in this part of London, this place might not look like much at first, but trust me — it’s a hidden gem! Easily the best Afghanistanian (is that spellt correct?) restaurant you’ll ever go to. The food is bursting with flavour — spicy, tasty, and freshly made every single time! Oh and don't forget good food, made from scratch takes time! So expect to wait between 20 and 40 minutes for your food—but hey, if you want good food you need time. I did not eat there, I ordered for take away and would do again."”

“Visited this gem last night with two Afghan friends and one English friend who's a huge fan of Afghan cuisine! I wanted to take them somewhere special, and this place exceeded expectations. We ordered a variety of dishes, including Afghan Tikka Kebab, Manto, Chapli Kebab, and Qabuli - everything was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was great, and my friends loved the authentic flavors. Highly recommend for anyone craving real Afghan food! 😋👌 Must-visit!”
