Customer Review Summary
Breakfast draws the most praise, from smashed avocado with scrambled egg and bacon to Swiss rosti, with Fat Rascals also named. Reviewers repeatedly call it expensive: one slice of cinnamon toast stung, and fish and chips arrived with hardly any fish. Food sometimes came long after drinks, and one forgotten cake ended with a second cup of coffee.

“Lovely cafe, within RHS garden. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Can be a bit pricey for some, checking menu before visiting would be helpful. Very unique afternoon tea experience. Book in advance is recommended.”

“We travelled to the Dales and on the return journey my friend suggested we must go to Bettys. It has reopened and it's one of her favourite places. We booked and were greeted and seated by a lovely cheery woman in a pristine black uniform. Shortly after another uniformed waitress approached to take our order. My friend feasted on Bettys Breakfast and I, shameslessly, shovelled in (until I remembered I was in public) the most delicious and sizeable portion of smashed advocado, scrambled egg with a side of bacon on toast. It was yum! Teapots and cutlery were very high quality and napkins are embossed. The entire place was packed, but not a long wait for food. WC were immaculately clean. However, a peg on the back of the door would have been useful but there was luckily a ledge in the cubicle. Free parking! Everything looked so fresh and bright with an ethos of days long ago, waiters in aprons, waitresses with neck pins and hair pulled back. Visited the adjoining shop. The large mug I liked was £35 so decided not to. I think everyone of any age will enjoy the experience. It was a lovely treat. Very highly recommended.”

“Lovely place and food but service in the cafe wasn’t brilliant. Forgot my drinks.”

“We have visited a couple of times and to be honest it’s really not worth all the hype it’s very expensive and the food is average although the staff are excellent. On the second time we went we just had coffee and cake but they forgot to bring the cake. When it did arrive we had already drunk our coffee. They did give us a second cup.”
