About Landmark Café and Restaurant
Landmark Café and Restaurant sits on Barton St, on the A18 just outside Grimsby, at the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. A 73ft terrace runs the length of the café and faces the North Sea and the Humber Estuary, so a coffee, a glass of wine or a pint comes with the panorama. Inside, a glass front looks across the Wolds valley. Breakfast covers poached eggs on toast with bacon, as well as pancakes. A cake display holds mint chocolate cake and honeycomb cake, and cupcakes are sold to take home. The café is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the panoramic view over the Lincolnshire Wolds, which several call spectacular even on gloomy or rainy days, with the outdoor terrace a draw in its own right. Food comes close behind: fish and chips described as among the best in a long time by a retired chef, plus a burger, the salmon, a Thai curry, pancakes and a tuna and cheese toastie. Cakes get repeated mention too, from honeycomb cake and cupcakes to a mint chocolate cake whose icing impressed but whose sponge was dry. Staff are called friendly, welcoming and attentive, and one couple were surprised with a balloon and personalised cupcakes for their anniversary. Several mention that it gets busy and suggest booking ahead, while one party without a booking was found a table. The main complaint is one breakfast visit where poached eggs came out hard twice, after a wait of about an hour, ending in a refund.

“Looking for somewhere different to eat whilst on holiday in Lincolnshire. This place was a brilliant find. Food was lovely, I had a tuna and cheese toastie and hubby had dirty fries, couldn't manage a pudding but they looked so good so we took some honeycomb cake away to eat later and that was the best idea as it was delicious. We sat outside because we didn't book so no tables left inside, only day it has rained in weeks but didn't spoil it as the view was spectacular. Shame we only discovered this place on the last day of our stay because we would definitely have gone back again. Highly recommend.”

“We recently discovered this fantastic café and restaurant on the A18 just outside Grimsby, and what a great find it was. The restaurant prides itself on serving dishes made with locally sourced produce, and it really shows in the quality of the food. As a retired professional chef, I can honestly say I was genuinely impressed by the standard of both the ingredients and the cooking. One of the highlights is the outdoor balcony, which offers stunning panoramic views across the Lincolnshire Wolds. It's a beautiful setting to enjoy a meal, and the location couldn't have been chosen better. We both ordered the fish and chips, and they were among the best I've had in a very long time. Perfectly cooked, generous portions, and full of flavour. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit, making us feel well looked after from start to finish. If you're passing along the A18 or looking for somewhere special to eat near Grimsby, I would highly recommend giving this place a try. Great food, spectacular views, excellent service, and a wonderful overall experience. We'll definitely be returning. Hint, its gets very busy so reconmend booking in advance to avoid a wait.”

“*Arrived 10.55am, friday 26 June. *2 x ppl seated by 11am. *Ordered 2x poached egg on toast with bacon and 2 drinks 11.15am. *fooded arrived at table 11.55. Table of 4 arrived ordered after, and was served food before us. Welcome and serving staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us, with it been the morning of my daughters prom, made her feel special ❤️ Chef on the other hand couldn't even cook eggs. Both lots of poached eggs came out hard as if they were boiled. These were sent back to the kitchen and we were told they'd be re-made. We were served our second lot, only to be given same. Eggs still hard and the toast had original egg residue on, from breaking them. I did complain and received a refund for food. Just gutted food was disappointing for what should of been a relaxed morning.”
