Customer Review Summary

Curry draws the most praise, with the Thali deal described as a massive portion and a spicy chicken curry judged better value than an Indian restaurant, alongside a pakora starter with crisp batter that was not soggy. Close behind are steak pie and chips and a sharing platter that arrived quickly, plus traditional British food and desserts one reviewer says are to die for. Reviewers repeatedly mention reasonable prices, generous portions, cold pints and fast service, and one diner describes staff offering their dog water and treats. The complaints centre on consistency. Staff are called disorganised and inexperienced, a curry plate and a soup arrived not warm, a couple of meals involved a wait, and one reviewer found a pint expensive. A party of around fifteen reported negative views of the food, and one diner found two Americano burgers sad looking. Another whose order came out wrong said the kitchen owned up immediately and gave a free meal and a refund.

“Ordered 2 Americano burgers wow sad looking 'burgers' never worth £13 each.... judge for yourself...in the pics. Wouldn't go back,I was in a party of around 15 and the food all-round had negative views.”

“Tue 7th July 2026 Went back in again & was told that there was a nice spicy curry on this afternoon & I must say there's no need to go to an Indian restaurant & pay a lot more for one 'cos what I had I could fault it at all. The chicken wasn't tough or dry & for me it had the right spicy kick off it BUT my 🍽️was a bit cold & when I venture in again I will ask for a warm or 🔥 plate that I can put my curry on too. My 🐥 pakora starter had a lovely crisp batter (not at all soggy) & the chicken was nice & tender. I didn't have a sweet after all that cos I was quite full & I just washed it all down with a nice pot of T So in you go & have one of their very reasonable priced meals.”

“We visited for the first time today and were impressed all round. Every single staff member was nice and helpful. The food was really good and arrived fast. Cocktails were also nice. Prices are very reasonable, portion sizes are generous, and it is nice inside. We took our dog and had multiple staff members offer her water and one even offered her some treats. I don’t go out my way to leave reviews too often but this one was very deserved. My partner and I both agreed we will definitely be back :)”
  • Ross Allan
“Genuinely my new favourite local place for food. Always fast service, pints are cold and food is hot. Great value for money and atmosphere, will always recommend.”
