Customer Review Summary
Breakfast draws the warmest comments, with reviewers singling out the scrambled eggs, a perfectly cooked egg with good sausages and proper butter on the toast, and good coffee, often eaten with a view over Stokes Bay. Close behind are the panini and sandwiches, one stuffed with melting brie and another a coronation chicken, usually served with crisps and side salad. Reviewers also mention a caramel shortcake and friendly, lovely staff. Food quality is described as mixed. One diner found a cheeseburger patty thin and burnt, another called a burger a dry bun with a piece of meat, and a coronation sauce was runny. Several call it pricey for what arrives, and a children's box drew complaints for half a cheese sandwich and raisins that were over a year out of date. Dogs inside divide opinion: one reviewer with an allergy left after dogs licked treats off a neighbouring table, while another found the dogs present no trouble. One reviewer also describes dirty tables and a breakfast that arrived with one slice of toast instead of two slices of tiger bread.

“Easy access for wheel. Hairs and buggies with both inside and outside seating. Clean and tidy with toilets. Small menu on offer with hot and cold food and drinks. Reasonably priced and good service today mid week. Had a coronation chicken brown bread sandwich with a side salad and crisps and a side of chunky chips. FYI the coronation sauce was a bit runny.”

“Lovely staff but the food is very mixed in quality. The cheeseburger patty was super thin and burnt and just overall, a bad burger whereas my friend had the scampi which was actually quite nice. The chips were fine. The price does not reflect what you are getting (a McDonald's cheeseburger is more enjoyable and would have saved me money).”

“No pleased bought 2 kids box's at 7.50 each for half a cheese sandwich, pom bears, a suprise chocolate bar (turned out to be 2 oreos and a snack! Arguments... ) A carton of juice and some raisins wich are out of date by over a year disgusting!”

“What possesses pubs and cafes to suddenly make it ok to bring dogs into eateries? I’m an animal lover. However, I don’t want to share my food with any dog salivating over it, especially when it’s not mine. I went to one of my favourite cafes, Pebbles Cafe this morning, to meet and console a friend who’s husband is dying. I was horrified to see the amount of dogs in there. Within half an hour I couldn’t breathe. I’m allergic to dogs. It’s a dry day and dog walkers are normally outside on the picnic tables probably letting their dogs wee up them. (Yes I have seen it!) However, this morning the tables were rearranged and the dog groups had congregated. You may as well rename Pebbles - Dog Cafe. This could have been just this morning but I fear it’s a regular thing now and unless this changes I will not be returning. Establishments need to realise Not everyone owns a dog Not everyone likes dogs Some people are scared of dogs Some people are allergic to dogs Some people, myself included, find it unhygienic to have dogs fur flying around in an eatery. No doubt this will upset the dog owners but not the ones without a dog. We returned this morning (a week later) as friends wants to meet us here for a coffee. On the next table a woman opened a packet of dog treats and her two big dogs slobbered them and licked them off the table. I was horrified. They finally left and an elderly gentleman sat down, sadly oblivious to the dog goo on his table. It started filling up with dogs so we left. I shall not be returning. I also noticed their flooring is a dark colour which hides all the dirt from them. Yuk!”

“Perfectly cooked egg, good quality sausages and proper butter on the toast. Also good coffee. Good value and enjoyable all round. Free M/C parking (limited), loads of paid parking. Plenty of outdoor seating overlooking Stokes Bay. Dogs allowed inside (unfortunately, although the couple in there were no trouble at all).”
