Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips is the draw, with cod and chips named most often, praised for fresh fish in a good batter and thick, nicely fried chips that one reviewer calls tasty but not greasy. Several mention big, generous portions, and one calls the fish in a small cod and chips very good. Scampi is described as very good too, and a reviewer who ordered gluten free found it delicious. Friendly staff come up repeatedly, with one regular visiting almost every day and another saying they always feel welcomed. One reviewer notes the order came out very quickly. Service is where the criticism lands. One reviewer waited while later arrivals were served, and staff could not find the ticket before handing over a small fish and a box of chips with no apology, calling the meal small and expensive though well cooked. Another, dining in with a partner and toddler, describes a counter worker shouting across the room, twice, asking whether they were going to pay after they had already paid, then shouting at the colleague who corrected her.

“What a lovely place!! I love their food so much. The fish and chips are tasty but not greasy. Scampi is very good as well. Definitely the best fish and chip shop we've been to in the area.”

“We’ve not been here for about 13 years. Very nice fish and chips, very pleasantly served in delightful Godalming. I gave it 3 for atmosphere as it’s a fish and chip restaurant but everything else was more than good!.”

“Food is fine. Extremely rude woman working at counter. We ate in the restaurant, paid and then left very loudly saying thank you and smiling straight at her (myself, my partner and my toddler), evidently not the behaviour of people trying to subtly leave without paying. Her colleague hadn't communicated that we had paid. Rather than saying sorry, excuse me, have you paid? She just shouted across very passive aggressively, twice, at us 'you're not gonna pay?' This is in front of my two year old daughter and other customers. When her colleague corrected her, she didn't even look around to apologise but instead proceeded to shout at him. Get some manners or opt for a back office job where people don't have to put up with you.”

“Ordered my fish and chips and waited. Several customers came, ordered and left with their food. After about 20 minutes I asked if they had forgotten me. The waitress asked what I had ordered but couldn't find the ticket. She grabbed a small fish ,filled a box with chips and handed them to me. No apology. Not impressed. I'm 6 foot tall so not easily missed standing in an empty shop. Not impressed. The small ,expensive meal was well cooked but the service was poor.”

“Please be aware of potential fraud. My uber eats account was hacked and the scammers engaged in multiple fraudulent charges through this restaurant. Posting a notice for others to please be aware of any potential fraud!”
