About Tea House on the Loch
Tea House on the Loch is a tea room on Lochend Nursery in Glasgow, set in a log cabin on the banks of Johnston Loch inside a garden centre, with a view across the water. Dogs are welcome inside, and the dog menu offers dog meals and ice cream served as "pup cups", while the staff hand out treats at the table. The lunch menu includes a ham, chilli jam and mozzarella panini, and a full afternoon tea brings sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, cake and tea. Without a reservation, a wait is possible at busy times. Large meringues with cream and strawberries are also sold to take home.

Customer Review Summary
Soup is the most frequent draw, with diners praising the lentil soup and the chicken and rice soup, often alongside paninis, toasties or sourdough. Close behind are the sweets: a massive meringue with cream and strawberries, a strawberry tart, and cakes described as utterly delicious. A full afternoon tea with sandwiches, bloomer bread, scones and clotted cream also gets praise. Dog owners repeatedly mention a dedicated dog menu, with staff offering a pup cup and treats, and reviewers describe friendly service and a lovely lochside setting. A few suggest booking ahead because peak times get busy. One reviewer had a very different visit: a long wait to be seated despite empty tables, weak coffee, paninis whose jalapeno chicken and chilli jam fillings tasted only of sriracha, and dry scones. Another notes that high foliage now obscures the loch view. One group left with freshly made meringues to take home for later.

“Soo bad it was actually really funny We were laughing at our table every time something came out like "this cant possibly get any worse" and then it did hahaha surprising because the reviews are really good and the actual place is very nice. Took 20 min to be sat, even though there were empty tables, We had no booking for that's partially on us. After being sat it took 15min to get a coffee, which was just soo weak it tasted like hot water. Another 15min to get our food, the jalapeno, spicy chicken & mature cheddar was just plain chicken with siracha sauce and cheddar cheese, with soo little filling i had to order 2 to actually feel like i ate. (The chilli jam filling on the other panini was also just siracha haha) The scones were funny as it was soo dry by this point we were just laughing at how bad this was going. On the up side they have funny dog paintings in the place, so that merits 1 star id say.”

“Decided to try this tearoom on a very blustery, wet Sunday. We turned up rather late at 3pm but the staff were very friendly and helpful. What a treat! The food was lovely and full of flavour. But oh the cakes were utterly delicious! What a treat! We'll certainly be back. Highly recommend! The only downside is the lochside foilage is quite high now and obscures the loch view but I can imagine the cafe themselves may not have control over cutting it back.”
