  “So I live in Birmingham, but I was working in Scotland wanted a place with SKY Sports close to my hotel found the Smiddy Inn. was a bit dubious about going in at first as it looks very clicky and local but eventually I went in and I couldn’t have been more surprised. Lovely atmosphere brilliant staff Stevie who put the Football on for me and turned up the volume. Then Katy, who brought my drink over to the table without me asking when she didn’t have to which I appreciated. Over all a brilliant experience which I wasn’t expecting being so far from home whenever I am here now I will be going there to eat and to watch the football, thank you very much, everybody including Sarah the manager.   “We are regulars at the smiddy both for family meals and nights out with friends. Amazing service, 10/10 staff and a great atmosphere always. James served us today and already knew our order. Would give more than 5 stars if I could.”

  “Had a brilliant time here, having been in on different occasions. From football days, karaoke nights & quiet weekdays, along with Quiz Nights on a Sunday. The team are always on hand no matter how busy they are in making sure that people are looked after. They have an excellent range of cocktails, drinks & good food for all different occasions. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is out this way.”

  “I was introduced to this place recently by family and i have to say i was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was amazing. Staff are extremely busy but always kept everyone in the loop with timings. Everyone is accommodating and welcoming. A bonus is that it is dpg friendly and has a little dog station too.”

  “Absolutely loved our visit to The Smiddy Inn! The food was top-tier, the atmosphere was warm and buzzing, and the whole place just had that perfect “we’re definitely coming back” vibe. Massive shoutout to Sarah, our server, who was an absolute superstar all night. Friendly, funny, attentive, and somehow managed to make the experience feel extra special without missing a beat. Honestly, give Sarah a raise — she completely elevated the evening and made us feel like VIPs from start to finish. Only downside was we couldn’t stay for the pop quiz 😩…. Next time… Great food, great drinks, great people… what more do you want? The Smiddy Inn absolutely smashed it 👏🍻”

  “A great pub with a together vibe, feels like a big family, loads of lovely regulars. staff are fantastic and lively, love the fact it’s a dog friendly pub, feels like they care. the best days are the senior days on a tuesday afternoon, some really good acts and good vibes.”

  “Me and my friend were playing pool on a Thursday night we had only had one or two drinks each and some boy put a bar stool on the pool table and this women (assuming she as the manager for the night) shouted aggressively at us to get out, we were then left stranded outside for over an hour as we had no way home, feeling completely embarrassed by this woman as she wouldn’t let us back in for even the toilet. Me and my friend are 18 years old, and i feel that because we were young we were targeted, and it was just assumed that we had something to do with the situation, this is something that should not be happening, and it was extremely embarrassing for us to be spoken to in the manner that this lady did. However i am not trying to excuses the behaviour of the boy, as i understand it is wrong, however i belive we were punished unfairly, and i believe this is because we are young. If this was anyone else older this would not have happened and i am very unhappy with the service. On a more positive note the rest off the staff were lovely and very accommodating.”

  “My family and I come to The Smiddy often. Always great food and customer service! This was no different last night when we decided to go for last minute meal together. There was a bit of miscommunication when one of the items on the menu were unavailable but nothing major and I’ve got to say I’ve never experienced customer service like this! I’m assuming this young man was the manager on shift and has got the best attitude in this industry! Not only was he so kind and helpful he was so attentive to the customers, always smiling and trying to help! He sorted out the miscommunication and went above and beyond! I don’t usually leave feedback but this isn’t just the best customer experience I’ve had at the Smiddy but the best customer experience I’ve ever had and felt this couldn’t go with comment! Thank you so much for your kindness!”

  “A bit of a high school playground vibe...very drunk young people around...we had a nice meal though around in the pet friendly area ( we don't have a dog!!,). and staff very good”

  “Me and my friends didn't eat here, we arrived around 9pm for drinks and karaoke. The staff were fantastic and the locals friendly and welcoming. Karaoke was a lot of fun, there was no judgement, not even for my awful singing voice, just support and encouragement. The evening was topped off by an outstanding performance by a young saxophonist who had everyone on their feet (and chairs), what a fantastic atmosphere! Just pure joy 😊”
