Customer Review Summary
Reviewers split sharply, and the praise centers on the Chinese takeaway dishes themselves. Fans single out the bean curd dishes, the pork in satay sauce and the roast duck BBQ chow mein, and several call it the best Chinese takeaway they have had, with a few saying they have ordered repeatedly. One reviewer says special requests were handled happily. The criticism is just as specific. Others describe bland, watery food: a vegetable chow mein missing its smoky taste, a Szechuan tofu with no spice, dry garlic chilli squid, a sweet and sour sauce likened to citrus juice, hard rice, and spring rolls that were mostly pepper. One says the half Peking duck was overcooked and had duck in only part of the container, and another found the crispy spicy beef strange with its five spice flavor. A longtime customer received cold food and says the shop denied it was possible when they phoned. Meanwhile, one happy diner liked watching the cooking happen right in front of them.

“Newish to exeter .looked for best chinese and it came at either wans or four seasons.so i went for these as closer which now im regretting .possibly the blandest chinese i have ever had .previous reviews seemed good but something seems to of been lost in making of their food.passion ? care?? Cost cutting ?? i dont know .As the more expensive option out of the two was really hoping for good quality and was really disappointed . The vegetable chow mein watery and the smokey taste was missing, ( hard to get wrong you think but not here ) garlic chilli squid , dry no chunky bits of squid. its like they got a calamari ring and cut it 3 ways with barely any seasoning ..for almost 9 pounds come on !!! Then the szechuan tofu.....um where was the szechuan, again watery, no spice just vrry bland ..for 40s pounds for 5 items not cheap and really no flavour and not the biggest portions i would avoid thus place ...with takeaways so expensive and a treat now this place doesnt seem to care sbout their customers anymore only money. ..thats a shame”

“Looked at the reviews ~ you can tell there was a lot a fake bad reviews- so was looking to pay by card placed order with some special requests was happy to do. Now we spent £40 and it was well worth. I would say don’t always trust reviews go but and see what you think for me one of the best in Exeter.”

“I have been ordering from this establishment for many years and have never had a problem. This evening our food was cold. When I called to make the business aware of the situation they told me this was not possible, effectively calling me a liar!! Terrible customer service. Check your food temperature before you leave as clearly they don't admit when at fault. I will never spend my hard earned money here again. Read the businesses responses to negative reviews and you will see the bad attitude we encountered this evening. They do not take any accountability.”

“Not good. I ordered crispy spicy beef (60) and it was not good. There was five spice in it… flavour was very strange. Not likely to be back.”
