Customer Review Summary
The Malice in Lavenderland Halloween trail draws the most mentions, with families and friends describing a fun story, a sunny autumn mood and kids running around. One reviewer singles out the Cheshire Cat train, the giant skeleton and the Queen of Hearts playing cards. Close behind is the cafe, called rustic and relaxed, where reviewers praise a fresh-cooked full English, delicious coffee, a salad and lavender lemonade. One family valued never being rushed over breakfast. Also mentioned are a yoga class in the lavender fields and apple cake with lavender honey ice cream. Complaints concern execution. One trail visitor found the signage unclear and reports seeing a lady trip near the Sleepy Hollow section. Another was charged for an extra sausage after dropping tomato and beans, and describes a counter server who tutted and rolled her eyes. One diner found the soup not fresh and the salmon portion small. A Golden Hour ticket holder found the bar closed, with only water and lemonade offered while the jazz band was due later. That same trail visitor was told the themed decorations were not for sale.

“Visited for breakfast with a friend. Beautiful relaxed atmosphere. I had the full English and switched mushrooms for extra beans which they were very accommodating with. Food was excellent quality and cooked fresh. Also tried the lavender lemonade which was very refreshing. A lovely hidden gem and will be visiting again.”

“Best breakfast! The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and so relaxed. We gathered here as a family before saying our final goodbye again and it became such a treasured memory. We never felt rushed, and no one came to clear the table while we were still together, which meant so much to us. Thank you for giving our beautiful family the space to share such a special breakfast and create a memory we’ll always cherish.”

“While Mayfield Lavender Farm is famous, the Secret Garden was also a wonderful place. I participated in a yoga class there; what a special experience it was to practice yoga at the lavender fields! After the session, I strolled through the fields and shopped for lavender products. The yoga instructor was lovely, too.”

“We purchased the Golden Hour ticket. The lavender fields themselves were beautiful, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The staff member (probably owner) we spoke to was particularly kind, welcoming, and brought a very positive energy to the experience. That said, I expected a bit more from the premium ticket. We were informed that a jazz band would be playing later in the evening, but it would have been nice if the music had started earlier for those who arrived at the beginning of the Golden Hour session. The bar was also closed when we arrived, and although water and lemonade were offered, I had expected the full bar service to be available as part of the experience. Another small disappointment was that cleaners were working on the carpeted area with wires running across the carpet where visitors were walking. It felt slightly disruptive and took away from the premium atmosphere. We’ve been visiting another lavender field for years, so we came with certain expectations that unfortunately weren’t quite met this time. Overall, it was still an enjoyable visit thanks to the lovely setting and friendly staff, but there is room to improve the Golden Hour experience to better match its premium price.”

“I've visited the cafe with friends and have done the Halloween walk. The cafe has a great atmosphere, as you walk through the shop you get a wiff of lavendar and it instantly relaxes you. We had the large round table in the cafe and had delicious coffee's whilst our Stitch group stiched away and chatted and then we had "brunch" too. The menu has some amazing choices and the salad was just delicious. The afternoon tea looks amazing as does all the avocado dishes. I look forward to going back.”
