About Amma's Kitchen
Amma's Kitchen is a fast food restaurant at 232 High St in Enfield, and it works on a walk-in basis. The Deshi (Bangladeshi) kebab is built from doner meat sliced and cooked on a flat grill with peppers, onions and chilli sauce. A mixed Bangladeshi kebab is also ordered with a choice of spice level, so diners can set the heat themselves. The menu runs well beyond kebabs, covering fried chicken, pizza and wings, with peri wings among them. Chips are served with meals, and house sauces round out the order.

Customer Review Summary
Kebabs draw the most attention, especially the Deshi kebab, where meat is sliced off the doner and cooked on the flat grill with peppers, onions and chilli sauce. One diner found the mixed Bangladeshi kebab packed with flavour at medium spice, and another has tried the lamb kebab roll several times, though a third found the Deshi version not particularly interesting. Close behind are the wings bucket, described as cooked through, and crispy chips, with the house sauces, peri peri grilled chicken and pizza also praised. Several reviewers mention big portions, affordable prices and friendly staff who sorted out an order. Complaints are nearly as frequent and specific. A large kebab meal came out like a kids meal with dry meat and cold, oil-soaked chips, and a lamb doner was dry. Peri wings were described as tiny, and wings were called bland with black bits inside. One reviewer reports stomach problems the morning after a Deshi kebab, and another describes a staff member handling food and the cash machine with the same gloves. One diner went back for wings left out of an order and was handed ones that looked green.

“Nowadays you just don’t know what you are eating, as long as it’s food just fine. Real food seems to have disappeared and everyone is a chef. Lamb Doner was dry and no tissues in the bag. Considering spent 7 quid.”

“Ordered deshi kebabish. They served me scraps of meat which did not look at all appealing for the 10.99 i paid. Woke up the next morning with major stomach problems.”

“Wings were bland and had disgusting black bits on the inside. The hygiene of the shop looked really bad. I was served by a staff that was handling my food with gloves and he was also touching the cash machine and counter with the same gloves.”
