Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the seniors menu, praising two courses and three-course meals as generous, hot and good value, with portions larger than expected. Specific dishes named include lasagne, the ham, egg and chips, pies, lamb shank, bbq ribs, breaded mushrooms and a fish dish one reviewer says was enough for two. Apple pie with custard and cheesecake with ice cream also come up. Staff are described as friendly and efficient, and a coach driver describes a party of over 40 handled with a smile. Others mention outside play equipment, a bouncy castle and that dogs are welcome. A few say the pub was really busy, and one suggests booking ahead. The one critical review describes a jacket potato that arrived cold with the wrong extras, was taken away, and came back missing an item and even colder, with waiting for staff to stop talking and no explanation of how ordering worked.

“Booked in quickly, pre-booked. friendly staff. Ordered once we was ready, with table service. Food arrived quickly and nice and hot. All delivered together for 5 of us so that was good. We all had a (bargain) pensioners 3 course meal, it was delicious and plenty of food. We were all very happy. Thanks to the staff. Very pleased. 5 *”

“My wife and I have just had a wonderful lunch at the cherry tree pub in Soham, I had the breaded mushrooms followed by the best ham egg and chips,! The ham was amazing.my wife had lasagne with garlic bread followed by cheese cake with ice cream. The staff were friendly and efficient. There is also great play area outside with a bouncy castle and you can take your dogs too. Overall have to say we can’t believe how great the value and quality of the food is and the two courses total £21 for two people on the seniors menu, we will most definitely be back .”

“It was our first time at The Cherry Tree. We had heard it was good but wanted to form our own opinion. We were not disappointed ~ we had the senior menu. We were worried that as it was such a reasonable price that it would be a little on the scant size. Not so, it was quite the opposite. The portions were a good size and well cooked - served hot too from a really varied menu. It’s a long time since I have been able to say this and we eat out all over place. They will be seeing us again. Heads up to the friendly and helpful staff.”

“Cherry Trees Soham: Very good place to take a large part of friends. Recommend booking and arriving early if going for lunch. Access for disability parking is good and entrance to restaurant the same. Tables well spaced with comfortable chairs! Menus are good and varied, seniors menus is good for those with smaller appetites, Reasonably priced food and a childrens menu. Plenty of outside space and play equipment for children. Staffing, well trained, exceptional and polite, such a change these days. Food is of excellent quality with generous portions. Cost for meals and drinks for 5 just over £115.00. This included lamb shank, steak and Stilton pie plus fish. Followed by deserts. All in all a good traditional pub restaurant offering good value for money. Will definetly go there again.”
