Quick info
About Piccolino Virginia Water
Piccolino Virginia Water is an Italian restaurant in Egham, at Unit 1 London Rd, where a 25-layer lasagna anchors a menu that also lists linguine gamberoni as a main and bruschetta as an appetizer. Pizza is on the menu too. Olives and focaccia are brought to the table before the menu is opened, so there is something to share while diners decide. The kitchen is open, and a cocktail bar runs alongside the dining room. A private dining room is set aside for groups, and the restaurant hosts birthday and anniversary celebrations. Reservations are required. A wine boutique is part of the venue.

Customer Review Summary
Attentive, friendly table service is what diners raise most, with several describing servers who checked in at the right moments, made recommendations and looked after large birthday and anniversary groups from start to finish. Food comes next, with the 25 layer lasagna, the linguine Gamberoni and a bruschetta starter named as highlights, while reviewers call the surroundings beautiful and the almost outdoor seating lovely. Cost is the recurring complaint. Several call the place pricey. One reviewer was annoyed that olives and focaccia were pushed for the table before the per olive price was clear, and another found drinks expensive, with a simple pizza and one soft drink coming to a steep total. One diner found the dishes bland and short on seasoning for an Italian restaurant, and another said service was slow on a very busy night, though the food made up for it. One parent recalls staff moving tables so guests in large electric wheelchairs had the best access.

“I dined at Piccolino recently and had mixed feelings about the experience. The service was good — attentive and friendly staff throughout the meal. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to expectations for an Italian restaurant. The dishes lacked flavor and felt somewhat bland, which was disappointing given the cuisine. On top of that, the prices were a bit on the higher side for what was delivered. It's not a bad place overall, but there's definitely room for improvement when it comes to seasoning and flavor if it wants to stand out as an authentic Italian spot.”

“We visited to celebrate my son’s birthday. He uses a large electric wheelchair as do both of his friends who came. When I booked a month ago the staff were so friendly and helpful with our requests. When we arrived they couldn’t have been more helpful in making sure we were comfortable and moving tables to ensure we had the best access as two of the disabled guests needed help being fed. The food was amazing ( although £7 for 7 olives is a bit steep so make sure you see the menu before ordering them for the “table” as we spent £28 for 2 olives each!) Our server Reis was attentive and very helpful and was always on hand to assist us. Dan had a lovely evening and we can’t wait to come back. Thank you all so very much for treating us with so much kindness and respect xx I would have given a 5 star review for the food but I felt a bit annoyed for the push on the olives and focaccia before you see the ridiculous price of literally £1 per olive 🫒”
