About Golden Cafe and restaurant Egham
Golden Cafe and restaurant Egham is a cafe on High St in Egham, open daily for breakfast and beyond. The breakfast menu uses numbered items, and one of them pairs eggs with halal beef sausages and a latte. Eggs arrive with runny yolks. On the sandwich side, the BLT comes on a bakery roll, and a baguette can replace the roll. Burgers, grills and kebabs fill out the rest of the menu, and halal options are available. Staff bring food to the table and check back on diners during the meal, and the owner greets customers personally.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is the draw here, with reviewers praising eggs cooked with runny yolks, halal beef sausages, and a BLT on a proper bakery roll. Close behind are the portions, described as large and not greasy, and the prices, which one diner says felt like robbing the place. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, and one reviewer says the owner takes time to greet their 83 year old mother. Another reviewer says a waitress patiently explained the menu when asked about halal options, and that a latte came included with the meal. One diner swapped a sandwich for a baguette with a single phone call and no fuss. Seating inside and outside is noted, and a group of nine met for breakfast and left impressed. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found green mould on their bread and says the man on the till still charged full price. Another says tables and signboards spill onto the pavement, leaving women with children and prams struggling to get past.

“I used to visit this cafe often and was very happy with the food BUT! Yesterday, had my breakfast as normal then I noticed a green bit of mould on my bread. I was extremely disappointed and won’t be returning. When I paid and explained it to the man on the till, he still charged full price 😂”
