About Bánh Mì Brothers
Bánh Mì Brothers is an independent sandwich shop in Edinburgh, at 141 West Port, with records, DVDs and skateboards on the walls. The bánh mì come filled with Korean fried chicken, Char Siu or slow cooked pork, and are dressed with carrots, daikon, coriander and herbs. Cauliflower and tofu fillings give vegetarian and vegan eaters their own choices. Noodle bowls and noodle salads run alongside the sandwiches, including noodles with a spicy Korean sauce. A bean salad is offered as a side, and a lunch or meal deal bundles the order together. Homemade iced tea is on the drinks list.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the bánh mì itself, especially the slow cooked pork, praised for a roll with a crisp crust and soft inside and fillings that taste fresh. Close behind are the cauliflower and tofu versions, along with the char siu and Korean fried chicken, with the carrots, daikon and herbs described as well balanced. Noodle bowls and noodle salads with spicy Korean sauce come up as a side draw, and the homemade iced tea is called lovely and not too sweet. Many mention good value and a relaxed, chill vibe, with records, DVDs and skateboards on the walls and friendly staff who share the shop's history. The main criticism comes from one traveller who had eaten bánh mì in Vietnam and found the bread lacking the distinctive flavour and crunch of the real thing, calling it a tasty sandwich rather than an authentic bánh mì, and who also found the wait for it excessive. Another notes a packed lunchtime queue before the food arrived, yet still found the sandwich very good.

“Super cool. Super affordable (£8 for a pork sandwich and Coke). Super yum! The roll was exactly the right combo of crisp crust and soft inside. The pulled pork was cooked and seasoned beautifully. The veggies had the crunch. Overall, as good as a banhmi gets!”

“The Bahn mi is delicious! Highly recommend! Went at 1ish and was packed, 15min wait for food. Worth the wait tbh, was very good.”

“Absolutely delish banh mi! The price at £6.50 is not bad as the size of the sandwich and the amount of filling is great :)”

“Had to post a review because this place had such a nice chill vibe, it was welcoming, the value for money was fantastic, and the food was fast and tasty. I felt so relaxed walking out. The iced tea was lovely and not too sweet. Thank you very much :)”

“10/10, does exactly what it says on the tin. Delicious, fresh warm Banh Mi for £6.50 (I had slow cooked pork). Lots of other options including vegetarian and vegan. Noodle salads also but for me the Bahn Mi was exactly what I was looking for.”
