Customer Review Summary
Friendly, accommodating staff are the most repeated draw, with one reviewer saying they were made to feel like royalty and others calling the service very good. Close behind are the mains: diners single out a beautifully presented lamb, sea bass, a salmon full of flavour, and a steak one reviewer puts among their top three. Another enjoyed an all-tapas meal. Several describe the atmosphere as lovely or cosy, one found the restaurant very busy yet well organised, and a couple mention reserving a table. The complaints are specific. One diner reports that a spicy chicken fillet burger came with no sauce and chips that were not triple-cooked, and that a chicken bruschetta arrived on untoasted bread with a bland mushroom sauce. Another says the pork belly looked and tasted like rolled gammon, and a third found the fish taco starter bland. One reviewer notes some noise near the bar. The birthday party who ordered the burger and bruschetta stopped at a chip shop on the way home to eat.

“I was invited for a 'thank you' meal on Sunday 19th April. The wild mushroom arancini was okay, the cheesecake dessert was nice, but the pork belly I ordered was definitely not proper pork belly, it looked and tasted like rolled gammon. In normal circumstances I would have taken issue about this 'faux' pork belly but as a special guest I didn't want to ruin the evening. I know I didn't pay for the meal but such 'deception' grates with me and is extremely disappointing. It had been some time since my previous visit to the Brewers and I had good memories of it but bad show this time guys.”

“We went to The Brewer’s House in Donaghmore for my dad’s 60th birthday, expecting a proper meal for a special occasion. Instead, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had and I’m a chef, so I don’t say that lightly. It genuinely ruined what should have been a memorable family celebration. My dad ordered the “house spicy chicken fillet burger” with side salad and triple-cooked chips for £18.95. What arrived was beyond disappointing. The burger wasn’t even dressed by the chef no sauce, no garnish, no effort, nothing. Just a dry fried chicken fillet thrown into a plain bap. Not a single drop of sauce on the burger. The “side salad” was literally a handful of plain mixed leaves straight out of a bag, not even a hint of dressing. The so-called “triple-cooked chips” were cheap, burnt-edged deep-fried chips. Nothing triple-cooked about them, just greasy and badly cooked. I ordered the chicken bruschetta for £21. What came out was a dried-out chargrilled chicken breast sitting on one tiny slice of soggy white bread that wasn’t even toasted. Again, a handful of plain mixed leaves with zero dressing. That was it. It came with some excuse of a mushroom sauce that tasted of absolutely nothing, watery, bland, and completely pointless. The whole family was disgusted. We had saved ourselves all day for what we thought would be a nice meal, and instead we left hungry, frustrated, and disappointed. On the way home we had to stop at a chip shop just to actually eat something decent. For the prices they charge, you’d expect quality, flavour, and basic presentation. Instead, we got restaurant prices for food that wouldn’t pass in a school canteen. A milestone birthday was spoiled by lazy cooking and shocking value for money. We won’t be back.”

“Great evening here. Staff were very polite and attentive. I had the fish taco for starter, this was kind of bland and had no real flavour :/ The main course of Salmon was delicious and full of flavour. Thanks”

“Posting this now although we had our meal on August 5th, 2023. I had to post about the place because oh my god the food was beyond mind-blowing! Everything was cooked to perfection, the staff, the service and the overall ambiance of the place. Worth visiting again and again just to try other things on their mouth-drooling menu! Highly recommend (reservation is required) 🙌🏼😍”
