About Station Yard Micropub
Station Yard Micropub is a micropub and brewery on Station Rd in Dunbar, right next to the railway station, which puts a pint within easy reach of anyone passing through by train. The taps pour cask ales and craft beers, including an APA, an IPA and a NEIPA. Scottish spirits, gin and cocktails are also on offer, with a malt of the month among them. Pizza is served for those wanting food with their drink. Inside are two small rooms, and the pub operates on a walk-in basis.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the cask and craft beer, with a NEIPA called possibly the beer of the year for one drinker, and the APA and IPA also praised. Close behind is the spot next to the railway station, where several describe passing a train wait with a pint, and the friendly landlady and bar staff get repeated credit for a warm welcome. Also mentioned are good pizza, cocktails, a Tamdhu as malt of the month, Scottish spirits, and a beer garden with plenty of outdoor seating. Dog friendly gets a mention. One reviewer enjoyed the quirk of passing drinks out through the window or setting them on a wooden shelf instead of carrying them out the door. Criticism is slight: one reviewer wanted better outdoor speakers, and another found the peppermint tart from the South African food van disappointing, though the vetkoek was very good and they suggested malva pudding and koeksisters instead. One visitor said they would have stayed longer but for their train.

“Excellent example of a micro pub. No keg beers but a good cask selection from nearby Winston brewery. Lovely looking building inside, but as it was a beautiful day we spent our time in the evening better beer garden. Great priced drinks. Serves pizza, but we didn't try it so I can't say how that is. Lovely little quirk that you aren't allowed to take your drinks out via the door, so you have to pass them out of the window or use the wooden shelf to hold them while you walk out and then collect them. Love this, it's so quirky. Brilliant place - totally recommended without reservation. Oh and the NEIPA could be my beer of the year so far, absolutely delicious. The IPA was great too, but the NEIPA was exceptional.”

“What an amazing little pub, so cosy inside, lovely staff, fab outdoor area - definitely will be back. Went for the SA/Scottish food van - Vetkoek was very good, peppermint tart not really - should rather do Malva and koeksisters”

“Lovely little bar. The beer and the service were excellent, pity our train was due or we’d have definately stayed longer. Thanks for such a warm welcome..”

“Station Yard is a great pub with a fabulous atmosphere — one of those places where you feel instantly welcome. The selection of beers is excellent, with something for everyone, and always kept to a high standard. A special mention to Janey, who works so hard and always has a smile on her face. She’s such a lovely person behind the bar and really adds to the warm, friendly vibe of the place. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a proper pub experience with great beers and even better people.”

“I've spent many 2-hour waits at train stations, but this was easily the most enjoyable. Great beers on tap, excellent cocktails, really good pizza, friendly service from the lovely landlady. Tamdhu as malt of the month! If you've a wait for your train at Dunbar, or just happen to be in the town, do yourself a favour and stop by this wee gem.”
