Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the pizza and starters, with the takeaway pizza described as incredibly good, with fresh, thin dough and good quality toppings. Close behind, diners praise the calamari and arancini, a steak called the tastiest one reviewer had ever had, and warm, welcoming staff, including an owner who entertained a table of teenagers and a kitchen that accommodated a vegan guest. Large groups report meals arriving together and a family-friendly feel. The main complaints concern the mains and the bill. One party found the T-bone fatty and tough, the carbonara inedible and the seafood pasta underwhelming, and another found a chicken pasta bland with only four pieces of chicken. Two reviewers called the tiramisu dry, and one found the risotto rice slightly undercooked. One diner was charged an undisclosed extra for swapping potatoes for pasta, plus an automatic service charge never explained at the table. Another party found only Chardonnay by the glass and no full bottle of Prosecco, just miniatures.

“We were a party of 12 last night. First of all only having Chardonnay by the glass was quite disappointing as I didn’t wanna spend £28 for a bottle of white wine to be honest. Then we wanted a bottle of Prosecco and they didn’t have that either just miniature bottles which I found a little disappointing given they are an Italian. The starters were lovely we had bruschetta, garlic mushrooms and the truffle arancini was delicious. Then the mains come and someone had t bone and it was so fatty and tough, but they didn’t like to say anything. My partner got fruti di mare and said it wasn’t great, I had carbonara and I couldn’t eat it so someone else finished it. We’re not the party to complain to be honest so I didn’t find it terrible enough to raise an issue but I probably would not come again. A lot of us said the food didn’t taste amazing. Pistachio tiramisu again wasn’t great, quite dry and not moist. The staff were very helpful and always on hand. But the mains did let it down in my personal opinion.”

“Fabulous place for our birthday/ wedding anniversary celebration. Nine of us , aged 14 years old to grandparents and parents aged in between, all had a great night. The food was all very good quality and excellent value. The menu catered for all of our fussy eaters tastes. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and fun. The owner was amazing. He kept all of us entertained, particularly our 16 and 17 year old grandsons, not an easy task !!!! Thank you to all the staff for a super evening.”

“I'd so love to give this place five stars because I've just had the tastiest steak I've ever had in my life. Seriously, it was that good. My wife's pasta was a bit of a let down though. There was only four pieces of chicken in it and it was a bit bland. So three stars will have to do.”

“Good food and a nice atmosphere, but a very disappointing experience overall. I ordered a steak and asked to have pasta instead of potatoes. At no point did the waiter mention that this substitution would cost an extra £7.95. Finding such a significant charge only when the bill arrived felt like a rip-off. To make matters worse, a 10% service charge was automatically added to the bill, including on the undisclosed surcharge. While service charges are common in the UK, unexpected extras and a lack of transparency are not. The owner has since clarified that the service charge was optional. However, this was never mentioned by the waiter and it appeared on the bill as a standard charge, so I naturally assumed it had to be paid. As a foreign visitor unfamiliar with UK restaurant practices, I had no reason to know I could ask for it to be removed. More importantly, the real issue remains the lack of transparency. I paid approximately £12 in additional charges that were never disclosed before ordering. Charging customers for extras is perfectly acceptable; failing to tell them beforehand is not. What made the £7.95 surcharge even more surprising is that pasta is hardly a premium substitute and is often no more expensive than potatoes. The food itself was good and the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, but hidden or undisclosed charges significantly undermine the overall experience. Clear communication about pricing is a basic expectation, especially for visitors unfamiliar with local practices. Unfortunately, what could have been an enjoyable dining experience was overshadowed by these unexpected costs. Given the way this was handled, I will not be returning. That is a shame, because the food was good and the atmosphere pleasant, but transparency and honesty are just as important as the quality of the meal.”
