Quick info
About Hatters Tea Shop
Hatters Tea Shop is a coffee shop and tea house on Prince of Wales Road in Cromer, set up as a traditional tea room with a fun theme and unique tableware. The counter displays a row of cakes, and scones are a focus, including a signature lemon & lavender scone alongside a cream tea service. Fresh bread is featured in the menu, and gluten-free options are available for those who need them. Milkshakes, including raspberry, are offered alongside the hot drinks. Tables are large enough to accommodate families with children, who can eat from the main menu, and dogs are welcome inside. The room runs as a walk-in spot at lunch, where a table can be hard to find during busy stretches.

Customer Review Summary
A clear draw is the tea and scones, with several reviewers singling out the scones as heavenly, particularly the lemon and lavender one. Friendly, accommodating staff come in just behind, alongside generous portions and fresh ingredients. One diner's cream tea order never arrived despite a long wait and had to be refunded. Reviewers also note a fun, themed setting and good gluten-free options.

“Ordered two meals ; sandwich and cream tea. Sandwich arrived and cream tea didn't arrive - waited at least 30 minutes - went to ask ask but still nothing came. I normally expect to eat together - had to get money back for cream tea unfortunately which stil didn't tun up. They said there was a glitch on the till? But I did remind them 20 mins in . Disappointed”

“We stopped here for lunch after looking at several options in Cromer, and this one really stood out to us. We were lucky to get a table as it was understandably busy, probably because the school holidays had just started. We managed to get a large table for our family, including two children. Although there wasn’t a children’s menu, they were more than happy to eat from the main menu. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and very accommodating, and our food arrived fairly quickly after ordering, which was ideal for our hungry group. The food was excellent. The bread was of superb quality, the portions were generous, and the fresh ingredients really shone through. My father thoroughly enjoyed his dessert, and there were some interesting cake flavours on display that looked very tempting. Overall, we had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and we loved the fun theme of the restaurant and its unique tableware. We’d happily return again. Thank you!”
