Customer Review Summary
Katsu dishes draw the most repeat praise, with one regular singling out the katsu vegetables with firecracker sauce and the katsu chicken, and another returning for years for the laksa. Close behind are the starters and sides: crunchy gyozas, takoyaki, miso soup and seaweed salad, plus a matcha milkshake and a Baileys Oreo milkshake cocktail described as unique. Sushi rolls such as the salmon maki and Godzilla roll and a bento set also appear. Reviewers repeatedly call the staff friendly and attentive, the portions generous, and the prices reasonable, and one says the restaurant squeezed in a group of five at the last minute. Food arrives quickly, and a large party reports not waiting long. The recurring complaints are scattered. One diner found the beef stew noodles disappointing, citing raw tomato and a broth that tasted of dark soy sauce and chicken powder. Another noted a partner's drink was forgotten at first, though the correct one was eventually brought. One reviewer closes on a booth near the AC at a quiet lunch.

“We just popped in here with family and they have quite spacious seating availability. The interior was beautiful and the restaurant was clean. I ordered bento set and we didnt need to wait for long, even though, we were a lot. The food tasted good. Good place to go in Coventry.”

“Been here once before and thought give it a try again. The food is tasty, and well presented. Service is a standout too — the staff are attentive, friendly, and make sure you’re looked after throughout the meal. A reliable spot for good Japanese food, and I’ll definitely be back.”

“I have been coming here for about 6 years now, and I always have ordered the same thing (laksa). I can’t recommend this place enough genuinely, everything that’s happened, good, bad, sad, celebration, loss, the food has never once disappointed me. I bring all of my friends here, and I come here by myself, it’s not just the food that’s so amazing but the staff, everything is beautiful from top to bottom and I love it so much. I will always keep coming here and I’ll probably order the same thing for the rest of my life bc of how good it is!! I hope the business stays blooming! Keep up the good work, thank you for creating beautiful dishes and even better memories!🤍”

“We had a really lovely experience at Yaki. The food was fresh, delicious, and full of flavour, with a great variety of dishes to choose from. Everything was well presented and the portions were generous. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere and was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend Yaki to anyone who loves Asian food. We will happily visit again!”

“I had a wonderful time, and while everything was delicious, I cannot recommend the starters/sides enough. The miso soup and takoyaki was amazing and the seaweed salad is so good on a warm day. Cannot forget the matcha milkshake, cool and refreshing. I recommend going at lunch when its hottest outside and the restaurant is quiet. I got a lovely booth near the AC and the servers were attentive and kind.”
