  “Waited over an hour for delivery and when it was delivered it was all cold. Ordered some chips to go with the meal and it was only a quarter of bag of chips- barely any in there at all! Won't be returning.”

  “Bad customer service, Bad food I ordered from Chefonline an Indian meal costing £61:20 to come from the British Raj restaurant in Clacton, and to be delivered. ( Big Mistake ). The time about 18:21 , with a wait time of approximately 45 minutes.Conformation e mail received, OK all seemed right. At 19:32 i phoned to see where my order was, Its on its way, (I live only 5 minutes away from the restaurant ) i then made more calls at 19:58,20:05 and 2013, to find where my food was. Approximately 20:15 it arrived (great i thought at last). We then sat down to eat, only to find part of my order was missing a Tandoori mixed grill. i phoned again to complain and was told they would phone me back. Did i get the call NO. What food i did get was the worst Indian that i have ever had, and i do love a curry.The following morning i found an e mail had arrived from Chefonline stating that they would give me a partial refund of £20 issued from them, and that the British Raj would phone me. Nothing at all from the restaurant No apology no mention of the missing food and will never order from here again Date of experience: 26 July 2025”

  “Amazing, warm, welcoming place. The staff are so polite & kind, nothing is too much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious 😋! 8 of us went & the waiting time was very reasonable. I'd definitely recommend The British Raj to eat in or take away.”

  “6 of us Went for a meal last night for my Neices 20th birthday. Service was great, very friendly and welcoming. Big portions and tasted as good as it looks.”

  “Our first time using this establishment. And wow we was amazed how deeelicious this was, portions were unbelievable. I went for the Tandoori mixed grill, the wife went for the chicken tikka starter, chicken tikka masala, and side’s we had onion bhaji, saag aloo, pilau rice, plain naan bread. This didn’t just taste awesome it was how colourful & amazing aroma’s. On the menu it states award winning onion bhaji and yes how right they are. As for the portion size, the wife even had enough for a meal the next day. Outstanding food, outstanding service, cannot rate this restaurant enough, I think we have found our new favourite. Bravo guy’s keep up this awesome standard you provide to the public 10 / 10 from me 🙏🏻”
