About Woodchats Coffee Shop
Woodchats Coffee Shop is a coffee shop in Chorley, set in Chorley Interchange next to the bus station. It opened in June 2012. Afternoon tea comes with an "endless" pot of tea, served with savoury and sweet items, including a scone with cream and jam. Brunch and other hot food sit on the menu, and the homemade mushroom soup is served with wholemeal bread. Drinks run from coffee and lattes to a selection of teas, iced teas and a Dubai iced chocolate. Cakes and cookies sit alongside them. For gluten-free customers, there is gluten-free cake and gluten-free bread for sandwiches. Dogs are welcome inside, so walkers can stop in with their pets. Jars of honey are also on sale in the cafe.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the welcome and the food, with homemade mushroom soup with wholemeal bread, the Dubai iced chocolate and scrambled egg, and an afternoon tea with an endless pot of tea, scones, mini éclair and lemon posset all named as highlights. Close behind come the coffee, iced teas and cake, and a few mention that new drinks keep appearing. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and welcoming, and one parent says the children loved the cookies. Reviewers also mention the jars of honey for sale. The main criticism comes from a gluten free diner who was disappointed to find only one GF cake and nothing else GF beyond a sandwich on GF bread, which came out toasted despite a request otherwise, while the sausage was not GF. Another reviewer finds service a little slow and the cafe sometimes on the cold side. One reviewer says all dietary requirements are catered for, and the most common closing note is a plan to return, including one who describes the plates coming back clean.

It was so lovely to see familiar and friendly faces, and the welcome and vibe there is fabulous... Yummy hot food, and a lovely latte was just what I needed, and my little ones loved the cookies! “At Woodchats, we provide a warm and friendly welcome, a great atmosphere, together with fabulous coffee and delicious homemade cakes, treats and freshly made sandwiches/toasties. We opened our doors in June 2012 and have built up a really loyal customer base. Our customers have literally made friends within the shop! Our location is perfect for those using public transport. We are also buggy and wheelchair friendly with two level entrances and plenty of space inside to manoeuvre. Come say hi, we're a friendly bunch, a bit silly at times but with warm hearts and always smiles.”
