About Russell's Thai Tapas
Russell's Thai Tapas is a Thai restaurant at 77 Foregate St in Chester, where the food comes as small tapas-style dishes rather than single large plates. The menu suggests two or three tapas for each diner, and tables typically order several dishes to share. Pad Thai with prawn, Massaman curry and crab fried rice are among the dishes on offer, so a table can combine noodles, curry and rice in one order. The format suits a group that wants to try a range of Thai dishes in one sitting. The restaurant is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Diners come for the tapas-style Thai plates, and the prawn pad Thai is the dish singled out most clearly, with the steak salad, massaman curry and a pork salad close behind. Others name crab fried rice, crispy chicken, duck, sirloin, beef curry in red sauce and chilli chips. Reviewers describe the food as delicious, full of flavour and authentic, with friendly, quick service and a calm, cosy room. The small portions suit those who want to try several dishes, but a few note the bill climbs as plates are added, and one calls the meal a little pricey. One reviewer also objects to an optional service charge added to the bill, saying it can be hard for some diners to ask for its removal, though they felt the staff earned it. Several describe ordering five or six dishes plus rice or chips, and one party says six tapas between them was the right amount against a suggested two to three per person.

“Had an amazing meal here tonight and can honestly say its one of the best meals out we have had in years. Very authentic, not pretentious at all. Very welcoming and the food is outstanding. Not the cheapest place you will eat at but worth every penny as everything we had was top quality. Thanks for a great evening.”

“My boyfriend and I came here for dinner. There was a lot of choice on the menu and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed our meal. The service was quick, and the waitresses were very friendly. In the end it was a little pricey, however we felt it was worth what we paid. It was very quiet when we went, but it was midweek - so can't really comment on the ambience, but the decor was nice and it was a pleasant experience.”
