Customer Review Summary
Breakfast draws the most mentions at this Carmarthen Wetherspoons, with one reviewer calling a traditional English breakfast fresh and cooked perfectly and another finding the breakfast well prepared and consistently hot. Close behind are the burgers and pizzas, including an American beef burger, a buffalo burger and a barbecued chicken pizza that one wife called among the nicest she has had. Reviewers also point to low prices, citing a manager special mix grill, tea and coffee with free refills, and a mini fish and chips that was not so mini. Staff are mostly described as pleasant, though one reviewer wanted tables cleared and wiped down faster. The main complaint is cold food. One diner found the beans, hash browns and bacon of a traditional breakfast stone cold, and another had a vegetarian breakfast sent back ice cold, waited half an hour for a replacement, and found all three refill machines not working before asking for a refund. That reviewer also describes staff hygiene lapses. Others call the pub grubby, with tired carpets and seats, and one found the men's toilets hard to find upstairs.

“We had a traditional English breakfast here and it was absolutely delicious. The food was fresh, tasty, and cooked perfectly. The restaurant has a lovely, cozy style inside with a warm atmosphere that made us feel very welcome. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great English breakfast!”

“It's Wetherspoons, so if you go in with middling expectations, it'll either be slightly better or slightly worse than you imagined. Early morning breakfast. Food was well prepared and consistently hot throughout and staff were pleasant. On the smaller side compared to some other locations, but seemed decent enough.”

“Me and my girlfriend come here all the time multiple times a week, we love spoons food even make an effort to try different menu options. Today on a Monday 6pm we ordered a Korean bowl and buffalo burger, the food came so fast like 2 mins after ordering. The food never fails to maintain a good level/average although we respect the reliability and consistency, as it’s a Monday it’s quiet although can be loud sometimes, not their fault so highly recommended”

“The service was slow despite few customers, the waiter was seen drying hands on his trousers, a waitress was cleaning the disabled toilet with no gloves and then served a customer a glass of water. When our food came out it was cold, sent back beans from breakfast never got the beans back and one whole vegetarian breakfast sent back ice cold. Waited half an hour for a new breakfast, while waiting tried to refill a cup of tea and all three machines did not work. No apologies offered other food coming out. I asked for a refund and left. Disgusting I will not be back.”

“We visited just over a week ago whilst staying in Carmarthen, on Friday evening. Service was fast after ordering on the app. Food was ok, perhaps slightly below the usual Wetherspoons standard. Staff seemed pleasant when bringing it over and a glass collector even asked us how our food was when passing. Slightly loud and lairy atmosphere, but it was getting towards 7.30pm when we left so that's to be expected. Toilets were ok for cleanliness.”
